2 weeks out..frustrated a tad

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone...

Ok so I am 2 weeks out...tried egg salad and it felt like a ton of bricks in my stomach...I haven't seen my scale budge minus the initial loss.. As I sit here writing this I keep scrutinizing myself-have you had all the Protein... My answer is no... I have no appetite..and when I do eat I can barely eat 4 oz of food and it takes me about 1 hour to finish those oz...is this normal??? So the 60 grams of Protein is out the door even with shakes it takes me a whole day to have one shake...

I had the same problem the first couple weeks. Try eating yogurt or cottage cheese they are both loaded with Protein. I honestly have no nice remedies. I would take the Gas X strips and that would help me with that feeling. There are still foods that effect me that way. Those foods I stay away from and then 're- intruduce that food back into my diet a few weeks later to see how it lands. Some food are fine and some not so much. It takes time to learn your new body. When my surgeon told me I might dislike food I would normally love I thought he was nuts. Turns out he knew what he was talking about.

Sorry I am rambling.... With all that being said.... I know this is a hard thing to do... however, try to be patient you will get it all figured out...... Best wishes!

I didn't even try any regular food for probably a month I would think it would be too soon for eggs still your stomach is still healing and really swollen .... I ate Soup , Soup and more fricken soup and drank protien shakes .... try Isopure its more like Water , taste horrible ( too me ) but I got it down to make sure I got my protien in. It was probably my 3rd week before I could tolerate a regular protien shake....

it gets better very fast after the first two weeks hang in there

I make two weeks tomorrow and Im still on phase 2 until the 5th week is when I can start eating eggs per the diet the doctor has given me. All I eat is Soups, Water, Protein Shakes, popsicles, yogurt, broth, jello and cottage cheese. My problem is making sure I get all my Protein in and eating when I dont feel like it and for some reason I cannot stomach the sugar free pudding when I loved pudding before.

Thanks I will. I go back for 2 week check up on the 14th. Wanted to be down more. I lost 21lbs on pre-op diet. My blood pressure meds were changed right after surgery and now I seem to be retaining a little Water. Hopefully Dr. will help me with that. I know it'll start coming off. Just a little down after reading everyone else's weight loss.

Make sure you are not gaining more than 2 pounds in one day. If so you should contact your Dr or the ON call Dr to see what they think. Several days of that would not be good. Stay encouraged and don't stop believing in your dream!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
