Hello everyone!

My name is Aisha and I have submitted all of my documents to be sleeved. Surgeon is just waiting for my insurance company to say yay or nay. I am 30 yrs of age and I've been overweight my entire life!! I was born chunky:). My highest weight 352 and currently I am 310. I have many reasons as to why I wanna be sleeved but one that sticks out to people when I tell them is that I can't wait to ride all the rides I want. I've already started booking my trips to Disney World and other parks. As a child, teenager, and adult I never enjoyed these places because all I did was walk around and watched others ride because I knew if I got in line I would be embarrassed because I just couldn't fit. Sooo, after surgery I'll just do it all over again with my family and children:).

Well first thing is the seminar Missy- lol...After the seminar I had my initial meeting with him and then my appointments for the dietician and psychologist was scheduled. Besides that I had to get some bloodwork done and I had to get proof of weight history. My first meeting with him was Nov. 29th 2012 so from then until now I've been going through the process. As of now, we're just waiting to hear back from my insurance company.

You don't have to doctor document form that you tried. All I had to have was just any form from a doctor that had my weight on it. Even it was from an urgent care or ER visit. Well, it all depends on your insurance as well. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Oh ok...i have united health care. And from talking to them and surgeons office, doesnt look like i will have to do any type of diet before surgery either. Some people are having to do a 6mo diet plan before hand..ugh

With united if you don't have to do diet, then you usually have to show a 5 year weight history of morbid obesity.

I used a doctor visit and I used a gyno visit. It can even be a weight watchers weigh in or Jenny Craig or whatever. They just need proof this isn't a recent occurrence.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
