UPDATE ON OCTOBER SLEEVERS WHERE ARE YOU

Recommended Posts

Wow, everyone is doing awesome! Of course we all heard that we would be successful, but if ya'll are like me, nothing in the weight loss department has ever been successful. So, it was, I'll believe it when I see it, for me. I still don't see it in the mirror, but I certainly do on the scale! So, here's my latest:

Just hit 6 months post op, HW 273 and CW 170. I'm so proud of myself and am off all of my meds (15 in total) for asthma, fibromyalgia, neuropathy, anxiety, hypothyriodism, and several muscle relaxers and pain meds.

I went to the dr today and left super ticked off. My door was cracked open and I overheard the medical asst talking to another office worker two doors down at the nurses station and this is what he said, "This girl is on Clonopin, Norco, (and he went down the list of my former meds) and shes complaining of palpitations, no wonder she has palpitations..." I got up, walked out there, and said, "my door IS cracked open!" and walked back in the room. I didn't get an apology or anything! When the dr came in, he discussed my urine with me and asked me to call in the morning because he thinks it may be my thyroid levels and at that point I said, "well I'm sure it has nothing to do with the Clonopin, Norco, or other meds I'm no longer taking unlike what you medical asst was discussing regarding my medication history with the nurses station." I thought I was going to have to pick him up, he didn't respond for several seconds and then apologized saying that they'd get my records straightened out. So, I said, "well it's not the records I'm concerned about. My concern is that your medical asst discussed my medical history with someone other than anyone he was giving report to and haven worked in a hospital for 12 years, I know a little bit about my HIPAA rights." He walked out and I heard him giving him hell, but I still didn't get an apology. Errr, I'm still getting judged. I hate it! Sorry for the rant!

On a better note, I just got through kidney stones without being hospitalized or having to have a stent unlike in the past!

I was sleeved 10/10/12 and lost 150 pounds but I am at a stall can't seem to move. I went back to the gym but because I can eat more I am eating more. So I went to Weight Watchers last weekend. I am trying to get out of the 300's been there for over 25 years. I am determined to make it happen.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
