I just had mine done on 12/28. I went thru the same fears. My hubby was my rock. He was with me 100% of the time. I have battled for years with my weight & I was tired. I would lose weight only to gain it back.

You'll be fine post-op. I personally have no hunger. My mind wants me to eat but my stomach isn't hungry. it's crazy. I have a friend who had the band done & still was hungry. She lost quite a bit but gained some back.

I previously had my gallbladder out 2 years ago. Honestly - the pain/discomfort from the VSG is the same as the gallbladder.

Im in very begining stages of wls...still waiting for seminar..lol. But its nice to know the pain and discomfort is not much diff from gallbladder surgery, i had mine removed years ago and it was nothing!!

I'm worried about whether or not I'll be able to do this for the rest of my life' date=' and I'm worried about dying LOL I have no idea why this is a big worry, but it is.

I have a band and am doing revision to the sleeve. I never had these worries with the band.

Are these second thoughts/fears normal?[/quote']

Yes totally normal! If u were not worried I would think something is wrong with you. Good luck! U will do great:)

I'm done! And I didn't die

So far not too much pain, really only gas pain and soreness at the old port site, otherwise tired and fine.

Thanks so much for the support getting through the fear.

Sleeved 5 days ago, had your same fears. It's totally normal. I had many friends, family, coworkers praying for me and come time for surgery, I felt an overwhelming calm! I knew everything was going to be alright!! If you're a believer, just ask for prayers. Before we left to the hospital my husband hugged me and said "GOODBYE" to my big ass & big boobs!!!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
