5mths Post Op 100lbs GONE!

Recommended Posts

Well I'm 20 wks post op and lost 100lbs, which I'm very excited I hit my first goal two weeks shy of my birthday. I still have about 60-70lbs still I want to lose, hopefully by Summer a majority of it. I was wondering with exercise if anyone has tips on fitting them in to a hectic schedule. I have four kids 2 of which are under 4yrs old and a full time job, so trying to find something that I can do at home and maybe kids can join in.

Also any tips on Hair loss, I know its at its worst between 3-6 months. I'm so thankful I have (well had) very thick curly hair b/c if not I would be in trouble the way it comes out and how frail it is now.

Thanks for any help and info!

That is fabulous!!! Congratulations on your success.

You are doing so great that I can't imagine any tips you would need.

But for an activity with the kids, volley ball or badmitten might be fun and not very expensive.

You're awesome, thanks for sharing your success so far! I'm having a lot of Hair loss too, I just picked up some hair/nail Vitamins, hope it helps. 4 kids, full time job, & exercise... wow, I think I would try DVD that can be put on anytime you want & the kids can jump around with the music.

Wow, that is awesome. As for working out, why not use your children to help. You can play (workout) with them, like doing grab them by their ankles and do arm curls, or airplane rides to work the arms; put your feet on their chests and lift them up in the air and do reverse squats, things like that. I always loved playing with my daughter when she was little, cause I always got a workout with it. Good luck!!

Congrats on your 102 weight loss!!!

I am pre-opt right now, so I am not dealing with the Hair loss yet. However, they have put me on a multi-vit. and told me to take Biotin now. I also use Shampoo and conditioner with biotin in it. Since I've been using them my nails grow like crazy, and my hair is soft and strong!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
