Recommended Posts

Hi all. I have Bern a liked for about a month and just got around to posting. I am scheduled for sleeve tomorrow at 10am. Current weight is 220. I'm 5'3 and 34yrs young. Married to my high school sweetie with 2 kids. I have been so gung ho up until tonight. I am really having a difficult tine thinking about all the foods I cant have anymore. Pathetic I know. But how I'm feeling at this time. I could seriously tear in to some serious food right now. Maybe its all because I'm starving from this 7 day liquid diet. Cant imagine that tomorrow At this time I wont be wanting to eat. A little Concerned also because I have this cold. Lots ofjumk in the nose and a chunky cough. The surgeon listened to my lungs in fri and he said they were clear. Anyway. Thanks for the support that you all offer through this site. Its truely a blesssing!

You'll do great. Keep us posted. Our stats are crazy similar. I'm 5'3, 214, 35 years young, married to my high school sweetie and also have 2 kids. My surgery is on the 26th. I'm hoping I just won't want any of those foods anymore so I don't have to miss them.

I'll say a prayer! We can do this! Not just for us, but for a better future for our families... food doesn't love you back. Don't give it a second thought! It's not worth it! :)

I'm 10 days post op, I was sleeved December 7th. Each time you eat, it gets better! It is very much worth it. Every day, it' gets easier. I had a cough and it still lingers. My incisions are a bit painful when I cough, but just take your pain meds and you will be fine. Plus, I would never let that get in the way of my journey to reach my goals. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Today, day 10, I am down 15 pounds!! Whooohoooo!! It's all worth it!! I wish you both the best!! God bless you ladies!!!!!

Hii. I was freaking out yesterday-scared, mourning, afraid not just of dying but afraid of living without my best friend, food-- but here I am sleeved! I am a little sore but happy to be on this journey and looking forward to dedicating my life to my real best friend: me. You will be fine. This surgery is performed countless times and with great sucess...and you will be able to eat again but hopefully we will be eating better in honor our beat friends: us.

Hope you have a great surgery tomorrow. I will be sending positive thoughts. *hugs*

Hi everyone! i am home from the hospital!!!! Feeling much better than i thought. Did a lot of sleeping in the hospital... just couldn't stay awake. Also did 4-5 walks around the floor when i was there. this really did help a lot! the only trouble i am having is keeping food down. had an all liquid diet yesterday (broth, diluted apple juice, Jello which i didn't eat, bottle of water). i drank most of the broth and all of my juice. took me all day. nurse said it was okay because i was still on iv fluids. this am they took me off the iv fluids and brought me another all liquid tray. i was supposed to go to full liquids (pudding, yogurt, cream Soups, no sugar added carnation instant Breakfast mixed with double strength milk) but i guess they forgot. so when i got home i was needing a pain pill and knew i needed to eat something first so i thought i'd try a few bites of Chobani yogurt. i can have any flavor that doesn't contain chunks. took 3 baby spoon fulls and after i finished it started rising back up in my throat. ended up spitting it out in the sink. not sure what that means. maybe my belly is too swollen to handle anything but liquids yet??? any one else have this problem???

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
