Full liquid question

Recommended Posts

Hey.. I am 7 days postop and I'm on full liquids.. I am so tired of the cream Soups and broths from a can.. I love the taste of ramen noodles so I thought what if I took the seasoning pack and mixed that with Water and had that as broth? ? Anyone have suggestions if that's ok to do or not? Or do you have any other food choices for a full liquid diet? I'm new to this site and just trying feel this out .. Thx

I did the same thing last night. Regular broth wasn't cutting it. My husband made himself some ramen noodles and gave me the bowl first so I could have some of the broth. It was heavenly.

I did that for broth a lot. A case of ramen is cheap, tossed the noodles and didn't give it another thought, immensely tastier than plain old chicken broth.

I'm sure that should be fine. I just talked to my nut today and she said clear broths were fine. I have heard other people straining other types of Soup for the better flavored broth too. :)

We bought a ton of vegetables and Soup bones, put them in the electric roaster (for a lot, or crock pot for less). (We actually roasted the vegetables with some seasonings to bring out the flavor before we put the crock pot.) Covered with Water and cooked for 2 hours on high then 10 hours on low. Strained away all of the vegetables and have some wonderful broth. Have done with both chicken and beef. I was not a vegetable eater before starting this endeavor and am now loving the veggie flavored homemade broth. I am 5 days out from surgery and have been trying this with various other "liquified" strained Soups (with unflavored Protein powder) to supplement the sweet shakes.< /em>

If you like the taste of ramen noodles, I'd highly recommend getting some Unjury chicken Soup. I've always said that it tases like chicken ramen & you get some very high quality Protein too.

"Forget the Ramen packages...mix together a dry onion Soup mix envelope, a dry veggie soup mix and two or three chicken bullion cubes (smushed up) brew it like tea and he will drink it like it was Bourbon!! Much cheaper than those expensive ( ;) ) packages. "

Found that on another forum

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
