How long did gas pain last? How about incisional pain? I was sleeved on the 10th.

Still super uncomfortable. Feel like if this one lap site would just stop hurting, we'd be ok,'. But it is so sore!! Ugg. Any advice?

try gasxstrips for the gas pain. Also how much are you walking? You need to walk at least 3-4 times a day to keep things moving. The walking helps you get the gas moving to get it out, keeps you from developing bllod clots in your legs and from getting constipated. Also make sure you are getting your 48-64 oz of liquids in. If you have pain at an incession site make sure it's not infected..red, swollen or hot to the touch. If it is call Doctor. I developed two himotomams (sp?) where two sites were a little swollen and sore. The Doc told me it was the blood pooled the the muscle tissue and would just take a little longer to go away. If you have any doubts call the Doc for peace of mind if nothing else.. Good Luck and keep us posted

Walking is the best thing for the gas... Walk, walk, walk! Incisions of any kind, take time to heal. In time, you will feel so much better! About the 2 week mark, I started to feel the best, tired, but better! Over a year now & I have so much more energy... Good luck on your journey!

I had gas for at least a week. It was awful. I am one of those persons who is unable to burp. I've never burped in my life so I think that's part of the reason it lasted so long for me. Believe me, if I could have forced a huge burp up I would have. My main incision (where they pulled out the stomach) was extremely irritated, red, and painful a few days after surgery. My doctor put me on a double dose of anitbiotics because he thought I had cellulitis. As a matter of fact, I am taking my last dose today. Thank goodness for those meds. It's still a little red but almost completely healed. I'd say that incision was painful for about 1 1/2 weeks post surgery.

And, yes, I walked and walked and walked and still had horrible gas.

I, too, am ready for the gas to pass - sleeved on the 10th. I am walking and sipping as they suggest, but still feel like an elephant is sitting on my stomach. I can tolerate the incision pains far more than the gas pains. Gas-X strips aren't doing much for me except making me gag. I am having to dig down deep for a extra helping of patience. Soooo ready for the gas to be a thing of past so I can move out of this "what did I do phase."

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
