L.A. Bariatrics in CA?

Recommended Posts

Hi my name is Roxanne and I live in Los Angeles CA. This is my first time posting. Just wondering if anyone is from the area and being treated by L.A. Bariatrics? I've already completed my visit with the Nut and Psych eval. They seem very helpful at the office but just wondering if anyone else has had an experience with them. Thanks

I have Dr. Korman!

Loved him!!!

The office staff is amazing. Checked into other places in the LA area and Irvine... chose them simply because they didn't pressure me into using their facility. They are genuine people with the desire to want to help.

I was sleeved on Oct. 22

I have really enjoyed being apart of the team with Dr. Korman's office.

I struggle everyday with eating and getting my Water in.

I eat half an egg when I wake up in the morning with my Vitamins.

And I drink Protein Shakes and Unjury through out the day... I have dinner with the family and even then I am force feeding myself.

Some days I am in the mood for a cheese stick. However that is not very often.

I am going to be 8 weeks out (so im no expert here) on Monday and I still have a few small pains in my large incision.

I also had hernia repair and the healing from that has been a b***h!!! The swelling in my throat finally feels like it is going down. Still struggle some days....

I am starting to have more good days then bad ones.

sleeping has been a challenge I have to sleep on my right side. If I sleep on my left I get crazy stomach hunger, as soon as I roll over the feeling goes away in a matter of min!

OH my biggest complaint is I am always freakin cold! I mean 90 year old grandma cold!!

Have you heard about insurance yet?

As soon as I was approved I had my surgery 2 weeks later.

Keep me posted!

Wow Ruffus. Thanks so much for sharing your experience. I hope you continue to adjust well. I'm sure its only a matter of time before you're feeling 100%! Hang in there. The best is yet to come. I hope my approval moves as quickly as yours. I'll keep you posted. But you take care and feel better. One day at a time.....keep your eye on the big prize : )

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
