Thanks for saving me seat!

Surgery was December 4th, feeling decent. My doctor Dr. Davidson and I was a Forest Park Medical Center. I owe alot of my doing well to my mom who stayed with me and walked with me even at 2am in the morning and would push me, come on, one more lap! Getting up and walking helps the gas and made me feel better. I only got sick when they gave me anti-nausea meds, go figure! On Children's Tylenol at night now that I'm home, the pain is tolerable. Got 3 staples the rest of the incisions are glued. My tummy looks weird because it dips in and out, I guess that's normal?

My whole ab area is making lots and lots of noise, so strange, hope this doesn't last all day...lol

Today I'm going to focus on Proteins. No hunger or cravings although the pre-made lasagna I had in the oven for my hubby smelled sooo good last night...lol

So far so good, thanks for saving my seat on the losers bench!

I had surgery on Nov 28 and my stomach looked like a mountain range. Now at 8 days out that is all gone. In fact today I can finally drink like a normal person again. I was having so much trouble even getting Water down. I see improvment everyday. I lost another 6 lbs since 2 days ago. Hard to believe. I guess mostly water. My feet legs and ankles were very swollen for about 6 days and that is gone now. Hang in there. It gets better everyday.

That's awesome Mokee and I love the description,l of a mountain range, very true. I'm getting better everyday as well, I'm afraid to drink to much at once or to quick after another sip, for fear of breaking the staple line so I hope this passes soon. Good luck on your journey :-)

Hi all. So glad to hear you are all doing well. I was also sleeved dec 4 and both my parents were in and out if the hospital taking care if me and also at home taking are of my 5 yr old daughter. My boyfriend of 3 yrs never left my side.....even sleeping in the chair next to my hospital bed for 2 nights. We are certainly blessed to have so much support and I have told my family that 100 times a day and of the stories in this board of folks who don't have that (but of course they have our support all the way). I am feeling most of the same things.....stomach bumps and rumbles but very good recovery and no sickness. I was quite bloated last night but took milk of magnesia and FINALLY pooped this morning (it had been since Monday and boy was it needed). I hope this jump starts the weight loss as I hadn't lost anything as of yesterday. Do you all think that is normal? Is my body just still swollen and healing? Would live to keep up with each if you that we're sleeved same time as me!!!! Good luck!!!!

Hi Want2Live,

Sounds like our support has really help our recovery. I'm alone today but actually loaded the dishwasher with minimal pain and then sat down...lol

I'm getting restless, so glad I get to work tomorrow from home.

I think the swelling and bloat is possibly from the IV and gas. Walking really helps with that. I also use an ice pack on my tummy to help and heating pad on my chest when the gas is bad, helps me, try it out.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
