  2. Hi ohitsmorgan, For the gas, walk, I know it hurts and your probably tired from lack of sleep and surgery but get up and walk even if it's 5 minutes (even if it's just marching place!) it helps. I also used an ice pack on my stomach and heating pad where I felt the gas and of course used gas x strips. I put one on the tongue and one under (this is what the nurses had me do in the hospital). I didn't have nausea except when taking nausea medicine so I'm no help there...lol Sleep-I had horrible insomnia after surgery. It took a couple of weeks for me to get back to a normal sleep schedule. Don't have a remedy, just rode the wave until it ended. I hope you feel better, sip your Water and walk it's sooo important right now! It will get better :-)

  5. sleeved 12/4 and 28 pounds down I have days that I don't drop any weight at all, maybe even go up but then drop 3 or 4 pounds a couple days later so far so good, just need to work on getting more Protein in!!! Good luck to everyone and may 2013 be an awesome and healthy year!
  6. Hi Want2Live, Sounds like our support has really help our recovery. I'm alone today but actually loaded the dishwasher with minimal pain and then sat down...lol I'm getting restless, so glad I get to work tomorrow from home. I think the swelling and bloat is possibly from the IV and gas. Walking really helps with that. I also use an ice pack on my tummy to help and heating pad on my chest when the gas is bad, helps me, try it out.

  8. I had surgery December 4th and feeling pretty good other than the expected tenderness from the incisions. I came home with Phenergan which made me sick (go figure) and hydrocodine which I haven't taken since the 5th. I took a small dose of Children's Tylenol at night on the 5th and 6th and nothing since then. I do a chewable vitamin and PPI. Getting fluids and working on protein. I'm really surprised that I have no hunger and minimal pain (this was my first surgery so really wasn't sure what to expect). I'm just ready to be able to drink normally without fear of causing a leak!
  9. Yes Catherine she is wonderful!

  11. That's awesome Mokee and I love the description,l of a mountain range, very true. I'm getting better everyday as well, I'm afraid to drink to much at once or to quick after another sip, for fear of breaking the staple line so I hope this passes soon. Good luck on your journey :-)

  17. Surgery was December 4th, feeling decent. My doctor Dr. Davidson and I was a Forest Park Medical Center. I owe alot of my doing well to my mom who stayed with me and walked with me even at 2am in the morning and would push me, come on, one more lap! Getting up and walking helps the gas and made me feel better. I only got sick when they gave me anti-nausea meds, go figure! On Children's Tylenol at night now that I'm home, the pain is tolerable. Got 3 staples the rest of the incisions are glued. My tummy looks weird because it dips in and out, I guess that's normal? My whole ab area is making lots and lots of noise, so strange, hope this doesn't last all day...lol Today I'm going to focus on Proteins. No hunger or cravings although the pre-made lasagna I had in the oven for my hubby smelled sooo good last night...lol So far so good, thanks for saving my seat on the losers bench!

  26. Get pregnant! I miss roller coasters and wearing my wedding band. Flying hurts because I try to hug myself so I don't spill over into someone else's seat and strange enough cleaning the house without having to stop and rest :-( it's a long list I love to Zumba MandyMo, what a great goal!
  27. Hey Cadilex- In Dallas? How about you? My surgery is at 7:30, I figured the earlier the better since I'll be without coffee :-) Amiee
