Fitbit?

I'm thinking of purchasing a Fitbit... do you own one? If so, what do you think of it? Would you buy it again?

I have it and love it! I have had mine since last March and it was my best purchase ever. It keeps me motivated to walk more because I want to see the number increase. Plus, it sinks up with myfitnesspal too.

I am looking at getting a Fitbit Ultra if I can score one off Ebay at a more reasonable price. I have already enter some information on the various logs they offer online. I hope I can get one before Christmas. I had my surgery on the 29th of November, and I am just about ready to start up the exercise part of my post-op plan. I have a X-trainer and have some hand weights and ankle weights. I hope to fight off the Bingo wings and my apron flap at the age of 56 and being obese for 35+ years. Here's hoping this gadget helps me in my recovery journey.

I look at getting this gadget just yesterday, but was sure if it was worth it. It does look great.

Fitbit has a new cheaper $60 model. That should put it in reach of more people. I've been using one since April. It's great except for the days when you forget to bring it with you.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
