Bored With The Same Food...

Recommended Posts

Help! Okay so I have the lactose intolerance since surgery and I'm so bored with the same foods that half the time I don't bother eating. Oh also...I'm super picky. Here's what I eat...egg scrambled. Egg salad, canned chicken breast with Italian dressing, tuna, and pesto chicken with goat cheese and sundried tomatoes. I'm so sick of the same things anyone have suggestions? I go threw spurts where I don't really care what I eat as long as I get Protein, but now I'm going through what I hope is a phase where I want to enjoy what little bit I can eat. :( I'm a few days shy of 7 wks post op.

Taco salad (finely ground beef with taco seasoning add cheese and tomatoes)

BBQ chopped beef or pulled pork

I put 2-3 chicken breasts in my small crockpot, cover them with salsa and let them go until cooked. Shred them and then store them (fridge for some, freeze the other). Once you heated up your portion, add in some non-fat greek yogurt, a few black Beans, a few kernels of corn and it's a wonderful soft mexican flavored dish.

turkey chili is great.

pork chops baked in low-fat Soup until they are super soft was one of my first soft meats.

don't get bored! That leads to straying from the plan. Play with your food to make it healthy and flavorful.

Why can't you have yogurt or cheese, these are both soft foods. Try putting your meats in the crock pot and cooking: ground chicken, turkey, chicken thighs. Cottage cheese, morningstar farms foods, Boca meatless burgers, fish(all kinds).

I have a lactose intolerance since being sleeved. I can't even eat a slither if cheese without getting sick. :(

I haven't tried shrimp for a few weeks, when I did it didn't go down well. Ill have to try again. I don't do chili, but I'm thinking BBQ Sauce with ground beef I. The crockpot topped with onions. That's how I used to eat burgers minus the bun and cheese. I haven't tried ground beef yet I was too scared. :(

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
