Just had my EDG this morning and I have gained 10lbs since my initial consult (May 2012)..... This is ridiculous;(.....since I had to do 24 hours of Clear Liquids I think I am going to start my pre-op diet now (even though I m starving) they say the first 3-4 days are the worst.... My surgery date is 1/3/13. Has anyone else gained weight prior to staring their pre-op? I know it's probably more common for lbs to be coming off than on. I really have a problem and am going to get my act together starting NOW.

Before I had the operation, I ate so much that I finally felt full. I knew that it would be the last time in my life that I would eat that way. I'm glad I did it because by the time I got the surgery, I was so disgusted with myself I was absolutely ready for the big change.

I paid for my surgery and therefore my wait time was like 2 weeks til I had to start my pre op. in those 2 weeks I ate what I wanted, when I wanted as much as I wanted...I gained 15 pounds!!! My only regret now is if I hadn't done that my number on the scale would be in onederland now...I think this is completely normal response for people who are undergoing this major lifestyle change

I gained 20lbs between my first consultation in late September and Monday when I started my pre-op diet. I went out guns blazing, including a week at an all-inclusive resort. Can you say buffet?

Anyway, I started my pre-op diet Monday and I'm already down 10-11lbs. Lots of Water and low carb eating have almost wiped out my indiscretions from the past 2 months.

Yes, I gained 10lbs, and about 20 points to my BP the top and bottom number, they were trying to send me to the ER. That day really put it in perspective for me of what I needed to do because the month before in August was my birthday and I did a bye bye bite to Coldstone creamery ice cream at least 3 or 4 times. The week of my pre-op to the date of surgery(9/27/12) I lost about 27 lbs. and I was hungry and mad the whole week, LOL but you can do it :)

I have been enjoying food, since it will be a few months before I can eat like anything resembling normal. I don't know how much I have gained... I'm scared to check. But my knees tell me I am at least back up over 250 if not close. At one point I was trying to lose about 10 lbs before I head down for surgery and it just wasn't budging so I gave up. This week I am ramping down on all the eating and prepping to start the liquid diet next Sunday.

I'm sure those 10 and then some will come right off once you start your pre-op prep.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
