We've got find to each other . I'm in room # 302 . It's 5:00 am and I just got another shot of morphine. This gas pain is no joke! I was Dr. Ponce's first surgery at INT at about 10:30. Waking up was horrible. I cried and cried and cried. The gas pain really bad. But then later I walked and walked and walked. We you're up, come by my room during your walk if you feel like it. If I'm passed out from the meds just wake me up.

Awwweee... sorry you had a hard time coming out of anesthesia. I hear so many people come out of it with no problem but for me, when I had my gallbladder out, coming out of anesthesia was one of the worst experiences of my life. I just remember feeling so much pain and thinking in a very real and literal way that Hulk Hogan, yes Hulk Hogan was slamming me into the ground over and over again. The nurse said it took her for ever to get me to utter something coherent.... I just kept crying and asking "WHY would ANYONE do this on purpose?".... now here I am again preparing to go under anesthesia..... on purpose. Yep, I want this BAD!

Hope you are both happily recovering!

So far so good!!! I was with Dr. Ponce. Just had to change my iv. I have tiny veins. Gas pains come and go but right now they seem to be increasing.

Just got more meds. Counting the minutes until they allow my first ice chips. Still having gas pains and just generally sore but doing fine. I met petraluxor. She is doing ok but having some nauseau and gas pains. Imbthankful for only very little nauseau so far. I'll be soooo glad to go home. Everyone here is nice... But I miss my hubby and my kids really bad!

Hi guys. Okay, I hate to admit it but this is sucking royally. Oh my gosh. Charissa has little nausea but mine seems to be increasing all the time. And I am fairly certain that one of the meds I've been given is making me sick also. I vomited a little shortly after getting meds both yesterday and today. Doctor isn't sure which med so he's going to try changing my antibiotic. Everyone kept saying the day after surgery is sooooo much better but that is far from what I am experiencing. I'm almost starting to regret moving here because I'm not getting any better at all. I can't burp at all. In lots of pain, not just discomfort but pain. I'm sorry this post is such a bummer. I've been reading all these pofrom Dr. Ponce's patients that sounded like people felt better the second day. It has been nice to meet Charissa, though. Hi Charissa. I wish I had your recovery. :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
