Sleeved on the 22nd, close enough!

Let's see I lost a pound a day for a week after surgery then hit a stall. I am only down 11 since surgery BUT during the stall I dropped 2 pant sizes and have gone from 44 to a 38 in the bra department so there at least was some change when the scale wasn't moving! I am eating soft foods at this point... I haven't been getting in enough Protein and am working on fluids! I'm also finally getting energy back!

Newbie, Sorry you are having issues. Maybe try other brands of Protein or try mixing your Protein with 4oz of Water or milk instead of 8oz. That helps alot. There are alot of others ways to get your protein besides the shakes. It took me a while to figure this out. Just stay on the diet that your doctor has given you and you will finally get there. I struggled alot at the beginning but am finally feeling better and am able to get my Proteins and liquids down. Good luck. :)

For everyone else, sounds like you are doing great!!

23rd here too. Down 15 lbs post op, but stalled for two weeks. Had turkey, gravy, cranberries sauce and yams for dinner. Very, very small portions. I had a sliver of pumpkin pie and ate the filing. It's nice to eat small portions and not be bloated full the rest of the day.

I was sleeved 10/25 and I'm down about 40+ pounds. I'm officially into the soft foods phase but I'm still struggling with my Protein. Being a "born again" vegetarian has made it more challenging and Protein shakes/powders make me ill.

If anyone else is on MFP you can find me there as serenity_lynn :)

I had the sleeve Oct 2 and I am down 34 pounds since surgery, 72 since I started. I am at stage 3 which is solid foods but still limited. My dr won't let me eat carbs till 6 months post op. Yesterday I ate a little bit of pork roast and some green Beans. If I get a headache I find eating a fruit cup helps. I don't really miss foods because I don't think about how it's only 2 ounces of meat, I just eat until I'm full. Which before surgery I never seemed as full as I get now that I have had the surgery. I have went from a size 34 pants to a size 32 and a size 30/32 shirt to a 22/24 so Yay for that :)

Oct 18th was my surgery day, I lost 20 pounds the first 4 weeks and nothing since then, I workout with weights and do cardio everyday and eat right, drink tons of Water but I havent lost a pound since. It's really pissen me off, even my pants are still a little tight still, I am really frustrated!!!

I feel like I'm in the same pattern like I was before I had surgery, the same old cycle workout eat right lose nothing.

Yes I am getting my Protein in between 80-100 a day.

I was sleeved on Oct 9th. Yesterday was my 1st social eating and as I am from a big Italian family who's sole social settings revolve around food I am proud that I actually lost a 1 lb from yesterday. My family is big grazers but I took charge of myself & made Breakfast and lunch. I did indulge with a glass of wine but for dinner I sampled only a few items (quarter size) and filled up on turkey and my Splenda cranberry sauce. I had a bite of my sisters cherry pie and considering that there was literally 1 pie / dessert per person am super proud of how I handled my eating. I am 2 lbs shy of 50 lost.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
