For me it is actually the opposite. My skin looks clearer and fresher because I am eating so clean. Remember to moisturize, moisturize and moisturize!!

Mixed bag here, skin is clearer and my eczema is gone and most all the acne too, although I have a bit of a turkey neck and look a little haggard sometimes. It's hard to tell what is from the weight loss, natural process of age - as it's been 2 years since I've had the operation, and exposure to the sun as I've been outdoors more post-op then I have EVERY been in my entire life, started bicycling in earnest this past spring.

Regardless, I'd rather look like I do now and be thin then still be fat and laying around on a couch a pasty faced acne ridden slob covered in eczema :)

As far a beauty secrets, I have none. See a cosmetologist and treat yourself to a makeover. And if they can't help see a plastic surgeon and treat yourself to a face lift for a job well done on the weight loss.

I am a fan of Clinique Moisture Surge on my face and neck. Expensive, but a little goes a long way.

Me, too. And they have some great firming potions too. None are cheap. All are worth it.

I use Retin-A and it is a prescription but cheaper than most of the moisturizers. A tube costs me $60 and lasts a year.

Fillers and Botox work wonders..

I agree with you 100 % ,creams no matter how much you pay will not cover creases ,or wrinkles ,bio fold lines on your face ,sorry ! You will need to go see a dematologist for fillers. Juverderm plus works very well . Many people loose a lot of weight then their face begins to look haggard and wrinkled , when this happens you definnetly need fillers. I never used the Botox because of my age , im not a candidate as of yet. however if someday I need to I will use it as well.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
