Dr. Hilario Juarez Phoenix Az

Recommended Posts

So after a long night of trepidation I decided to contact another doctor to get a second opinion on my band to sleeve revision. I found Dr Juarez on the Internet and was looking to see if anyone had any information first or second hand in dealing with him and his office. I am currently scheduled to have my band removed and then wait 3 months for the sleeve. My insurance covers revisions from band to sleeve. However if it is removed, I then have to requalify all over again. My current doctor who placed the band has tried to urge me into the direction of the RNY. which is her bread and butter procedure. I opted for the sleeve. However I just don't see the point in waiting three months and then hoping for the approval. Dr Juarez's staff said that he will and often does them ain't one procedure unless deemed unsafe. I'd rather not risk an insurance approval and or my life. I also didn't feel comfortable with being pressured to a surgery that I don't feel comfortable with. I have a consultation with him on December 4th. I would greatly appreciate any information on both him, his staff, and hospital. Thanks a bunch.

Hi, I am having surgery with Dr. Juarez on Monday December 3rd. I have had a really good experience with him and his staff... I believe they are the only reason I was able to get approved and get this surgery. I tried working with another office in Phoenix with Dr. Sprunger.. he was really really nice but his staff sucks so bad!! I was always chasing them and calling their office for an update.. never got a call or an email back. Finally when the lady did call me it was to say I was denied and that she had missed the appeal window??? WTF?? I was so pissed! I contacted Dr. Aceves office and worked with a lady their named Mary, she was awesome.. totally took care of everything and like two months later i was approved. I have only met Dr. Aceves once but he was nice.. and i've heard good things about him.. I guess I can let you know for sure after Monday since that is when i am getting my surgery.

Well i got through my surgery dr. Juarez was awesome they said i had no complications. I did throw up once and dry heaved which is not pleasant at all.. I didn't want to eat or drink but i was waking.. The staff at the hospital were awesome really took care of me.. My family was really impressed with the level of care i recieved. After the first two days and when i finally got home and could sleep i felt a lot better. I still have some pain at the incision site but I'm getting better all the time.

I concur with what "slayignorance" said. The hospital so far has been great and staff are very caring. I also threw up once and dry heaved until they took me off the morphine since it was making me nauseous . I'm taking liquid Vicodin and it works well. Dr. Juarez hasn't been into visit me yet, but hopefully I will see him later today. How's everyone else doing ?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
