I am interested in hearing about this as well..I also have hypothyroidism but will have my surgery on 11-26. I will be more than happy to compare with you once I have started loosing. Have you had your surgery yet?

i'm hypothyroid and been so since 2002..we can keep up with each others progress as my date is 11-22-12.

best wishes

I am hypothyroid and currently take 150 mcg of synthroid daily. I had surgery on 10/3/12 and am currently down 27 pounds. It is going great - no issues and truly believe the sleeve is the best thing I have EVER done for myself.

Good luck to you!

I had to have my thyroid removed 12 yrs ago and have taken Synthroid ever since. I had the same fears that you have but so far everything's going great. I had my sleeve surgery on July 9 and have lost 65lbs and feel fantastic!!! I could never have lost so consistently without this surgery..

I am on Synthroid, am losing weight and have had no problems.

I had a total thyroid removal and take 125mcg synthroid and 25mcg of cytomel. Had my surgery on July 18 and it has been the best thing ever. I can't believe the weight loss of 73lbs since surgery:)

I'm glad to hear people are having success even with hypothyroidism. This was my biggest fear

I've had it since i was 13 yrs old. (Am 51 now.). I would suggest that every 3 or 6 months that you get your levels checked. I'm 3 months out and have lost 50 pounds. My dosage is now less. :-)

Hello all, I was sleeved in May and have lost 62 pounds. I was hypo as well and feel great. My doctor has taken me off all meds, including blood pressure and colesteral, amd synthroid. I do get my labs checked and everything is great! You all might have to come off the meds too.....its wonderful! Good luck!

I have Hashimotos Disease, had a right thyroidlobectomy 7 years ago, and am on 112mcg of Synthroid. I was sleeved 10/16 and have lost 50 lbs.

I have Hashimotos disease also. So I was shocked when my dosage went down. I'll never be off of it completely though.

I'm on Levothyroxine for my hypothyroidism and I'm doing very well! I lost 18 pounds on my pre-op diet, and about 37 since VSG in late September.
