I know some people get tired of the topic of stalls but this is a support group, right? So here I am obsessing about this second stall I'm in, and people don't give me negative responses because if u do , I will gladly ignore u. So the past two days I've been eating 800 calories and today I'm going to eat less to shock my body, would love any insight on how you changed things up during a stall u had. Thanks to those listening ;)

I've read all kinds of stuff on this and I've tried several things and I'm pretty frustrated too. Eating 500-600 calories a day does not even cover you BMR. I've been almost at a dead standstill for weeks.

Sometime more Fiber and Water clears out the clog. If you're a goer the scale goes lower.

wish i knew how far you were post WLS - no data on profile :(

gonna try and clean my chrystal ball - you are still early PO, about 2 months???

whatever the time period since WLS....

if you are exercising - change order of things you are doing - do one thing instead of another, change your routine - helps sometimes - personally i don't exercise enough, have to work on that

reducing calories to 600?? i think thats going a bit too low, but not sure where you are with your eating - i have heard people increase their calorie intake, and this could break a stall, i know, go figure :)

drinking more Water never hurts!!!!

btw - there are some people that might not say things in the best way, not aware that they are being alittle insensitive :othey just might not know better............

like you said, this IS a support group, and if you fall, we'll pick you up ^_^

as you loose more weight, then we can pick you up easier

good luck my friend with breaking your stall sooner than later!!!!!

Thanks Grammy, I'm 4 months post op. I drink 12-15 cups of Water and stay within 6-800 calories per my doctor, it's hard for me to even get to 800 most days, I have a really tight sleeve. I don't want to go against my doctors orders. I feel so lost ;(

Hi Sweet Susie,

I tried all kinds of method, i went back to liquid diet for 3 days, just on Protein shake.. then the scaled moved, but it went back up, and even higher prior to the liquid diet by a couple of pounds, then i started excercising like mad for more than a month.. didnt move.. nope.. I control my intake at 800 cal MAX, and that is if im on a good day, the rest of the time, im usually at 600cal...

Recently, due to the rain here, i stopped excercising, try to eat more, and my scale moved.. i stop obsessing with the pounds i lost, so i havent stepped on the scale for about 2 weeks now, but i did notice my tummy is shrinking.. its flatter now..

Sorry, my story doesn't seem to be telling you anything, just thoguht i'll share with you..

but that said, i think everyone is different, you just got to try different methods, give it time, and you';ll eventually find what your body wants.. :)

And i really think eating less than 800 cal is not going to help. perhaps you should up you intake to 1000... see how it works out for you?

Good Luck! :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
