Will The Nausea Ever Stop?

Recommended Posts

Hello all. I had my sleeve down on Oct 29th. I guess that makes me 4 days post op. I am just curious if and when the nausea stops. I am taking all the meds that they have given me. Still I stay nauseous most of the day. I have not thrown up yet but that feeling is almost always there. I also feel run down alot...very tired and lethargic. Anyone have any suggestions?

I was very nauseous for two days post op. I am 11 days out from having the sleeve and that feeling has been completely gone for many days! Hope you feel better soon!

That went away a few days after surgery for me. Your body has just undergone significant trauma. Be gentle with it. Take very small sips. Also, check to see if there is something in what you are consuming that is causing problems. Sugar makes me feel bad now. Certain smells may be putting you off, too.

make sure that you are constantly sipping your Water. Dehydration can make you sick. Sip, sip, sip water and another other liquid you are allowed.

i see your 36th b'day was on 10/30 - what a great present you gave yourself!!! :)

nauseous, being tired - 4 days postop - totally normal - at this early stage in the game i don't think its anything to worry about

you should start feeling better gradually :)

take care

happy belated b'day

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
