Try priceline.com. I used it and got a hotel near my clinic (Dr. mumford, not yours) I bid $35 a night, and was quite please with the clean modern hotel it got (ho jo's). hope this helps :)

Unless you luck in like Neenagh, you are going to pay for a hotel in Toronto, especially if you want to stay at one close to the clinic (which is downtown...so pricier).

You may want to stay at one closeby. You can ask Nisrine which ones are close by and she will help you out. There is one only a block and a half away....Mr Yoda stayed there because I had to stay overnight at the clinic (due to sleep apnea, they kept me overnight as a precaution)....so it was very convenient. I believe the gov't rate (same as CAA Rate) was about $100/night. Motels on the outskirts will be cheaper but you will be much further away from the clinic. Another option would be to stay at a hotel close to the airport since I know you'll be flying....it would be about a 30-45 min cab ride to TLBC from airport area (depending on traffic). But they will be pricey around the airport too.....around $100.

When we go to Toronto (wheter its to visit TLBC or not) we always stay at the Howard Johnsons in Yorkville on Avenue Road, its about 1-1/2 blocks away from the TLBC. Depending on what time of the year it is their rates usually range from 100 - 140.

Hello,

I am considering the same clinic. When I go to Toronto , I usually stay at the Days Inn 30 Carleton St. I stay there because it is between 80 to 120 a night. It is off of Young St about 5 blocks from Bloor St. It is nice, has a pool. (It is not the Delta Chelsea ) From the map it looks that the clinic is a few blocks down Bloor St . I am sure no matter what, after the surgery it will be a taxi ride.

I have to say that the care at the TLBC is top notch. They are genuinely caring and "nice". Any of the girls will be more than happy to give you advice.

Good luck all.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
