Do you have a date yet?

I'm hoping to talk about surgery dates tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed to have it before the end of the year.

The psych eval was the easy part for me. You'll do just fine. Good luck!

Looks like my date is 12/11! I have to say that choosing BCBS Federal was the best decision I made! They have been fantastic!

Ok another snag. I have gained weight over the past year. At some time in 2012 I went to my PCP and I weighed 226. My surgical doc appt I weighed 265. Two days later I went to My PCP because I was having headaches. I weighed 257. Come to find out my BP was up and he put me on medication and the headaches have subsided. My next NUT appt I weighed 249 and yesterday at my last NUT appointment I weighed 243. My problem is when I seen my PCP for the headaches they didn't record my weight in the chart. It says I weighed 226. When we submit to insurance I'm sure they will wonder how I lost 40 lbs in two days and then gained nearly 30 back in a week. We have to use that record when we submit because it's the only one with my height listed and my high BP. I don't really know what to do. I am going to try to go to my PCP tomorrow and have them correct the record before we submit.

I would definitely go back to your PCP for the correct information. But the surgical doctor's weight should be the one that counts for 2012. Good luck!

Ok it took me all day but I finally got my PCP to send over the corrected weight. My surgeon's office will submit my file first thing tomorrow morning.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
