Anyone else?

I have surgery in two weeks and, yes, I am nervous about the pain, adjusting to the new lifestyle, etc. But I will get through it. Good luck on your surgery!

Mine is in 8 days and I'm getting so nervous

It is normal to be nervous. Idea: meditate on something happy, such as an improved future life. That is helping me with my pre op fear.

I am goin in with u at 1:00 pm PST I cannot wait I hve been on Protein Shakes since 10/15 and wb on Protein shakes 2 weeks after surgery. I am excited no worries, I trust God he has our back so I ám confident that everything will b well. I pray for sleevers everyday. God bless all of us, this is best time of our lives, not many people in our situation will hve this opportunity not because they dont hve insurance or money to pay, but because they are not aware of the possibilities embrace the change. You will hve to do the work so what it was VERY hard work to be fat. Lol

Dont worry you'll do great! I had mine Monday and the only thing I'm dealing with is minimal soreness at the incision sites. I'm sure you've been told this by everyone on here but after surgery, walk as soon as possible! As soon as they put me in my room I got up and walked down the hall, then walked 2 more times that day and had no gas pains whatsoever! The pain is not so bad and they pump you full of painkillers you're asleep most of the time anyways! Good luck everyone, this is going to be so worth it! :)

I had surgery this past Monday. I was so nervous my nose was bleeding, and I was shaking. As soon as you check in, let the know you are nervous and would like something to help you calm down. I was given something almost immediately after I asked, and felt much better. As I am sure you have heard, walk as soon as you can and keep walking. I have not had the has pain, but I sure burp all the time. The first 3 days suck, but everyday improved tremendously after that. I am going to work tomorrow...one week after my surgery! You will be fine!

Thinking of you tomorrow! Best wishes

Thanks for the suggestion to ask for something to calm me down - I did not know something could be available

Can I suggest each one of your write down top 10 reasons of why you are getting surgery? This will help you with your resolve and fears.

I read my list over and over before surgery along with several times why I was losing weight to hit goal.

Wishing each of you the best of luck! Looking forward to reading your updates.

I have my surgery tomorrow at 7:30 am. I hate hospitals and am nervous, but i think something would be wrong with us if we weren't even the slightest bit nervous.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
