So, this is how I've been spending my past Saturdays drinking Miralax hoping to have some relief soon. Is there anyone else who gets to share this experience with me?

I just don't go if I don't take something, not fun.

I typically take a serving of miralax every day to stay regular. I also take sugar free Gummy fibers throughout the day. Just the past week I ordered a large shipment of smooth tea from Amazon because I had success with it in the past for another unrelated surgery where pain meds made regularity an issue. Will see how well this tea works with sleeve eating. Does anyone have experience that they would like to share?

Do we ever get back to normal? I'm 4 weeks out and still not regular. I've only gone 1 time since surgery.

Graham crackers work well, I try to eat 2 a day. If that doesn't work milk of mag, but be prepared to stay close to home.

I have most recently been taking a version of Smooth Move tea. It has senna in it. It does seem to give me some discomfort in my intestines. I was considering just using some stool softeners and seeing if they will work. I was taking miralax but it did not seem to work for me.

Is Miralax stronger than a stool softener? I take 2 stool softeners every night and still am not having much luck. I am thinking about picking up some Activia Yogurt, I eat a yogurt every day anyway.

I chose not to use the smooth tea because my surgeon said to stay away from stimulant producing laxatives. But this is terrible so I may need to do it.

I take miralax 2x a day. Works for me to split it that way.

I also rotate my Iron & Calcium on alternate days. If you haven't had a BM in awhile, STOP taking those till you have a BM. Clear out your system. Then start a regime of a stool softener & alternating Calcium & Iron. Being impacted can be VERY painful and send you to the hospital.

I think it's gentler. With ANY stool softener you need to make sure you are getting lots of liquid or it won't work.

Yes it is. I was told that if I couldn't move I would be admitted.

Oh no! Try enemas. I prefer the hard ones vs the liquid. And keep drinking!!! This goes for the OP also! You guys need to poop!! ;-)

If you really can't go take milk of magnesia, I take three ounces with a big glass of water; within 3-4 hours you will go, stay close to the bathroom!

I used miralax last night and haven't gone yet. Is it safe to take another dose now? I need to get things moving before work on Monday. I see people all day and can't just run to the bathroom mid conversation lol!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
