Yea the shakes can be a pain. I like Eas vanilla crime with 26 grams of Protein. I use SF Almond milk or lactaid milk with a little cinnamon and it's not bad.

It is tough! I think that has been my biggest challenge post surgery! I am always searching on here for the next, new, Protein Drink to try. I am going to try Unjury next cuz it sounds like you can get Protein almost in a clear form and isn't too sweet- that is my biggest issue! They are all too damn sweet for me! You can do this- there are so many of us on here that struggle with the same thing and if we can do it so can you! Hang in there. What brands have you tried? The only one I can get down right now is called Metagenics Rice Protein. I can't even stomach whey anymore so I am on to rice and after rice I will probably try a mix-protein blend. But you can do it!

Try different ones - none are great but some are more tolerable. I guess the way i could do it is because I had to.

The ones I settled on was the chocolate premixed ones I bought at costco called Premier Protein. Low carb and 30 g of Protein.< /p>

I found the Syntrax nectar to be the best one for mixing up. It is really low calorie too. I made all sorts of creative shakes using their basic choc and vanilla and mixing sugar free flavorings. You can get a sample pack of the Syntrax and try all their fruity flavors too.

Try some others. The pre-op diet phase is miniscule in relation to the rest of your life. You will get through it.

Here are some links to places that will send you free samples of their products. I just sent emails to each of them telling them I was a bariatric patient and would love to sample their products and gave my home mailing address. Within 2 weeks most had sent me samples. That's a good way to try different ones. Also, your taste buds will keep changing so keep trying! The first few months sweet things are just TOO SWEET. That goes away and you can tolerate sweets better. My favorite RTD Protein shake is Premier chocolate (at Costco's and Sam's) with 30g Protein but it probably took me 4 months before I liked it.

Don't be worried; it will all fall into place. Did your nutritionist go over the Vitamins, quantities and forms (gummy, pill, chewable, under-tongue, etc.) you need? Get those and one or more pill cases now. The pill cases are cheap and will allow you to line up in advance the pills and vitamins you will need. Keep all your pills and vitamins in one place. I use a kitchen cabinet and put them on a tray so that taking them all out to refill the pill cases is easy.It won't take long before getting the right pills and vitamins in the cases is an easy routine.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
