Where are our moderators? There used to be several on here at various times throughout the day. Now, it seems we go hours at a time without seeing one. Just wondering because there is a very inappropriate post with obscene nude photos that has now been posted for several hours that should have been removed by now. Do we need more mods?

I know the post you're talking about. But...the only way we had to see them is by clicking on the post; at least 'nude' is clearly posted! hehe :guess

It's Sunday; so I would say 'give 'em a break'...maybe they're out enjoying this beautiful autumn weather! They'll be on line soon, for sure.

It's funny how some things offend some people, yet not others. There were a few posts this week I was surprised by. Not offended by; just surprised. Usually these forums are super strict. But here; we're among 'friends' is what I've learned...anything (respectfully goes). Again, the titel of the post states what you'll see.

Hopefully not too many people will open it and be offended in the meantime. Me, I personally think that Britney is gorgeous, and was curious! I guess you were too! I know that if something said 'nude', and I would be embarrassed or offended, I would not open it. Just my two cents! I'm sorry you were offended. I personally would never post something like that online; I'd be afraid.

Nude is one thing....crotch shots are something else altogether!

I agree...the Mods deserve a day off.

Actually, my sole reason for opening the thread was not out of curiosity, it was obvious what would be in it. I opened it for the purpose of reporting it to the moderators. I have to open a thread in order to do that. You need not apologize to me if I were offended. My concern is that we do have several minors that do post on this board. This is not the place for threads such as that.

Additionally, I have been a member of LBT for quite a while now. I have observed less presence by moderators in the last month or so now, not just on beautiful, autumn Sundays. I love this board. It has had problems recently and has another board competing with it. I want to see LBT survive, as it is helping me to survive the game of life!

Stepping off my soapbox now.

The post you are concerned about has been removed. The poster has also been banned. As soon as I got the e-mail that there was a post I came right on and checked it out. Sometimes moderators are present, they just aren't always posting. Then again, like everyone else we do have a life outside of LBT. We need breaks just like everyone else does. Thanks for the concern though!:biggrin1:

I for one had a house full of company all weekend, it's really hard to ignore your company to come and post. :omg:

Betty,

Thank you for removing the post as soon as you learned of it.

I am not in any way indicating that moderators should spend all of their time on this board and not have an outside life. I apologize if it came off sounding that way. I have major PMS, my PCOS is giving me fits right now and I have a large cyst on my ovary that is hurting me. So, I guess I am a bit crabby today and not coming off very well. I apologize for that.

I am just concerned about this board. It has done a great deal for me and I want to continue to see it thrive. I had just finished reading another post in which a moderator from another board commented that she hoped we didn't mind that she posted the same thread on another board, and then included the link to that board. However, when, out of curiosity, I went to that board, she did post the same thread, but did not ask if anyone minded that she had posted it here as well. Basically, I was a bit annoyed because I felt like her posting the link to the board which she is a moderator on was listed purely as an effort to draw more people to their board and away from ours. So, I guess that set me off.

I just feel this is a large board with a great deal of activity and we currently only have 3 moderators who take an active interest in the board. I worry about LBT, because, as I have said, I would never have gotten my band if it weren't for all the support I got here while investigating my options. And, everyone here has helped me through every step of my band journey and I love and appreciate everyone for that. Therefore, I want to see this board continue to thrive and grow.

Again, I do apologize if I offended you or anyone else. That certainly was not my intention.

Susan, the fact is that when things are quiet and going well on the board the moderators don't have to be as active. It's a GOOD sign. ;-)

I'm here every day, reading if not posting. But I don't read everything by a long shot, and reporting posts of concern is the only way to be sure they will be seen and tended to.

Don't worry, we're here! :biggrin1:

Susan, I wasn't offended at all, just wanted to let you know we can't always be here 24/7. Like Alex, I read a lot more than post because I do work during the day and by the time I get home and start reading everything I usually don't have much time to post.

We all love this board too, and while it's peaceful we don't worry as much.

Thanks for caring enough to ask!:)

I'm here most days, though I'm largely idle or back and forth, and have recently had to do a lot of travel for work... and I usually don't check in when I'm in another state and being kept (too!) busy with after-hours work activities. One thing to keep is that a lot of what we do is behind the scenes, so to speak, so we're here - but not noticeably.

And yes, it's a good thing when moderators find themselves unemployed! (in board world that is)

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
