Does anyone know how long we have to wait to get one? I have one that I really regret. I got it when I was 18 and dumb. Now that I can see it I need to get something done to it. I don't want anymore just to get this stupid thing fixed. The only good thing that came from it is that I have girls and non of them want a tattoo because of how stupid I was.

I would say that if you've got clearance from your doctor for everything else, then ask about that as well. It probably would be fine as long as you are regularly getting all your Protein & calories in, as you need to be able to heal from the injury.

Ever consider laser removal? Expensive and painful, I know but why take the risk of making it MORE regrettable? If the artist screws up or you get an infection you might end up with it looking WORSE then you do now.

I can't see why you'd have to wait a long time but you could easily ask your surgeon. If you do go with a cover up make sure to find an artist that specializes in them, or at least has several great examples in his/her workbook to show you. My DH had two covered up. He didn't really vet the first artist and not only is the ink already fading but the cover up is imperfect. It's not bad work, it's just not as nice as it could be. With the second cover up, we looked at three different artists before choosing one. It's a spectacular job with great ink, and it very creatively hides an old, embarrassing tat. Years later it's not fading at all and still looks awesome.

So, all that to say treat your tattoo artist like you would your surgeon and research! Tattoos are permanent and letting some guy that only knows how to do flash attempt to work a cover up is a huge mistake.

Good luck,

~Cheri

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
