Yes and you will be surprised at how quickly things change once you get the surgery done. Of course it wont be immediate, but I am only a little over a month sleeved and am surprised at how many things in my body/life have improved. Be encouraged! Things will get better!

Oh do I hear you Racoon! I am out of breath. Tired and grumpy. Clothes that I can find that are comfortable are ugly as sin. I put the shoulder strap of the seat belt behind me so I don't strangle to death. I will NOT buy an extender!!! So I just live with it. Sometimes I forget it is behind me and get out of the car all wrapped up in the belt. I'm sure I look like a lunatic! Can't wait to have a normal life, normal clothes and normal seat belt wearing!

Used to sweat, huff and puff all the time. Couldn't walk through Walmart. Hubby let me out at doors then parked the car. No more. All reversed.

You will be there soon!

My family is mostly thin and pretty much all supportive of surgery but they dont GET IT. The embarrassing things we deal with..... seems like such a long journey thru all the appts before hand but im trying to keep my eye on the prize! Thank you all!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
