Hey PRE-Banders...!

Recommended Posts

I can't wait to NOT stand out in a group!! I want to blend in or let it be my personality that creates attention, not my weight! And I can't wait to do my volunteer work. Right now I feel so self-conscious that I have allowed myself to stop doing the things I love to do. I have 30 days till surgery, then I will be back with a vengence!!!

I havent gone for my consultation yet it is 10/24 but I am hoping, fingers crossed all goes well and i soon after get a date....

Well, I am of course looking forward to looking good in clothes, bathing suits, bras and panties, and most of all naked, hahah. but I am most looking forward to everyone getting to see the real me.....The fun-loving, crazy, outgoing, happy, loveable me that has been hidden for a long time.....I know this is going to change my life and I cannot wait....I will be able to do anything...I will feel free......I can try new things without feeling embarrased, I wont have to hide when I eat, I wont have to go through the drive through of dunkin donuts just cause people might stare at me, I can finish nursing school cause I will have the motivation and the energy......I WILL BE FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like most of you have some of the same things, matching undergarments, boots, all kinds of them... including SKI BOOTS. I quit skiing about 5 years ago because the search for SKI BOOTS that would fit my calves just got to be too embarrassing! I have a trip planned in March next year! I get banded Nov 8! That gives me 4 months to shed some weight! Its got to go!:clap2:

Really I think being able to be physically active again has got to be the biggest thing I look most forward to. Volleyball, tennis, hiking, scuba,(wet suits don't look all that good on a size 18:rolleyes: ) ... I used to be very active and my weight has taken it away! Simple neighborhood walks is about it now...:bored

Oh, how I can't wait to wear a DRESS and HEELS...

Hey Mary!

Heels are definitely high on my list. When I was waiting for my consult with Dr. Fielding I was telling my sister that I couldn't wait to be more comfortable in my heels... she (all 125 lbs of her) assured me that it's all a farce and no matter what size we are, the feet will still be aching from our Manolos! The office staff laughed about it, and then they all agreed.

Well, I don't have a pair yet but I've already picked out my first pair!!! It's going to be my ONEderland present to myself!

It's SO going to be worth it! ;)

There are many things that I am looking forward too, but 1st and probably most important to me is that I will feel good about myself again, and in turn I think that will effect every other aspect of my life. I have two boys, 13 and 10 and I don't won't them to be embarrassed of their mother. And I want to be desired by my HUBBY again. I know he loves me, but when you don't love yourself, it effects everything.

I am so excited to begin this journey in my life. Only 14 more days. I am going to Dr. Jose Rodriguez in Acuna Mexico

I think the thing I'm looking forward to the most is becoming healthier and getting off of some of my meds! Of course, I want new clothes, shoes, coats, more shoes, and buying my clothes at regular stores instead of plus sized stores. My health is my number 1 reason for wanting the surgery though.

The closer to surgery I get the more I'm looking forward to finally taking ownership of my body and health. I've begun to feel empowered by this so i'm looking forward to being powerful, responsible and accountable to myself for my health and happiness then this of course, will spill out into every other area in my life. Also, what most of you have mentioned the cute undies and clothes (especially tucking in a shirt), crossing my legs..........

I too want it all! The opportunities are endless:clap2:

I told my husband the first place I was going was Victoria Secrets to buy some sexy underwear. I cant wait to go to an amusement park and not have to wonder if I can fit in the ride with my children. I am waiting on approval now from my insurance so I can get a surgery date.

I recently went to the Amazon and Machu Picchu and managed to keep up with twenty something's, but it was very hard!!! I want to be able to return and be able to trek through the rainforest and climb Machu Picchu again without getting short of breath, and without needing a walking stick! I also don't want to be the biggest person in pictures! I am healthy...but I am BIG...I didn't relaize how much until I saw mysself in pictures and video from my trip...I was horrified!!! My problem is portion sizes...the band will absolutely help that! I want to wear regular clothes again...I want to be able to wear pants...I only wear pants when I need to do so like when I went on my trip in June. Nov. 7 is the date!!! I am so glad to have this support group!

Hi Everyone, I look forward to being able to not be so out of breath just walking around the house or doing laundry. I look forward to my feet not swelling at the end of a long work day. I look forward to not feeling so bloated all the time. Most of all, I look forward to a healthier me so I can watch my kids grow up, as well as hopefully enjoy grandchildren ! Oh.. one more... I want my husband to look at me like he does other nice looking women and say "uh oh". (That's his thing he says when he sees a nice looking woman). I've never heard it when he looks at me. That would be awesome !

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
