  1. Keep in mind it takes 6 weeks to heal, so dont over do it. I work out with a trainer 3 times a week and it is the best thing I do. I will be at my 1 year lap band anniversary on October 30 and I have lost 112 lbs. Exercise is the key. I also walk and/or run 3 miles a day. Do weights, machines, walk, anything you feel up too;
  2. Exercise is the key, I had my surgery a year ago, my anniversary is Oct 30th. I started working out with a trainer about 3 weeks before my surgery and I still am, and she kicks my butt. But it works, I am down from 320 to 208, and firming up every week. I walk and run 3 miles a day now, and work out with her in the gym 3 days a week. You will start out slow, but within a year watch out. Good luck
  3. Dont be scared, my 1 year anniversary for lap band is Oct 30 and as of today I am down 112lbs. You can do it, and it is the best thing you will ever do. You have to be willing to work the program, and EXERCISE.
  4. I agree, follow your Dr's diet. Do not push to much food, you will feel so much better. Exercise is so much the key. I was banded Oct 30, and have lost 68 pounds and I exercise 3 days a week with a trainer. I started out in a size 26 and now in some 18's.
  5. I was banded Oct 30, and have had 4 fills. I agree usually after I loose 10-15 pounds I think I need another fill. I am doing awesome though, I have lost 68 pounds, I agree you wont really feel full, but satisfied. You have to really stop and think about what you are eating and how much. Not sure I have found the sweet spot either, but I think I am really close. The key to loosing is the exercise, I work out in the gym 3 days a weeks with a trainer, and what a difference. I started out in a 26 and I actually bought 18 shorts this weekend.
  6. I would recommend the lap band. I had mine done Oct 30 and I am down 68 pounds. The key is exercise. My sister had gastric 2 weeks before me and she is only 20 pound ahead of me. Lap Band saved my life, and I would recommend it to anyone.
  7. How in the world do you get the tickers at the bottom of all your threads. I have tried everything, and can not figure it out.
  8. I have 2.4 in my band right now. I am still eating more then a 1/2 cup. My food choices I think for the most part are good. I will start with a Protein shake in the a.m. but I still feel hungry around 10. My morning usually starts with 3 glasses of Water from 5:30 to 7. Then a cup of hot tea, and then in 30 min my Breakfast. So at 10 I have a piece of low fat cheese and then lunch at 12. Now today I have had the munchies all day long, not sure what that is about, this is the first time I have ever had that happen.
  9. I had my surgery on Oct 30th and I have lost 37lbs, not as good as I would like to see, but I am happy. My question is on the fills, I had my first fill Dec 14 and then went back last week for a 2nd. I still feel like I can eat more but I stop. However the weight just isnt coming off. I hate to call the Dr. again and ask for a 3rd fill so soon. Any thoughts or suggestions. Thank you, Smalltowngirl40
  10. I told my husband the first place I was going was Victoria Secrets to buy some sexy underwear. I cant wait to go to an amusement park and not have to wonder if I can fit in the ride with my children. I am waiting on approval now from my insurance so I can get a surgery date.
  11. I will be going next week form my pysc eval and I have no idea what to expect. Can anyone give me some idea? Also they said my first visit would take 3 hours and my second visit would take 2. What in the world am I going to talk about in 5 hours. I can only say I have been heavy most of my life so many times. Smalltowngirl.
  12. I am in the beginning stages of looking into the banding, I am going to my pysc eval on the 18th and then to the kick off seminar on the 24th. I am trying to get every thing done I can prior to the 24th. Does anyone have any advise, I have been heavy most of my live and need to loose probably 150 lbs. Thanks, Smalltowngirl40
