Okay, I was so looking forward to a November week 1-2 surgery date! But after my cardiology appointment (EKG) yesterday I had to schedule a dobutamine stress echo. I have no history of cardiac problems at all!! The closest date I could get was October 25th and then the coardiologist is on vacation for a week so the follow up is November 5th. The only consulation is that since we are changing insurance for next year they are planning on getting everyone done before the first of the year. It is just that I had my plans all set to be at least a month post op for Christmas!! I know, no biggie, but I am paranoid none of this is going to happen! *****I guess, we plan; God laughs!!!*****

Too bad, but at least it only sounds like a minor setback. I think being less than a month around Christmas wouldn't actually be a bad thing. I always gained 5-10 pounds around the holidays in the past.

AW, don't worry. Seriously. My friend/co-worker just got sleeved and like you she was set back due to her blood sugar going up due to change of meds. She felt as if it was the end of the world and wanted to quit on her procedure. Time flew by and ta-da! She has been sleeved for a week now!

Would they be willing to tentatively schedule your surgery into the second week in Nov? If you have no prior history of serious problems, a heart issue should not really negate this surgery, since it would be in your best interest to lose the weight if you have a heart condition. My Surgery date was scheduled ahead of tests.

Consider talking to your bariatric surgeon again and see if he has a relationship with the hospital that would allow him to do that.

I am sure you are disappointed because you couldnt have it done on the date you had planned. Time flies and before you know it you will be getting your sleeve. Yes, I agree we plan and God laughs! Even in His Word He says" My Plans are not your orginal Plans!" God knows best for us and in this situation, it may seen like a setback and its only to ensure you are healthy to endure this major surgery. Good luck and rember " Good things come to those who wait".

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
