I'm 2 1/2 weeks out from surgery and I've only lost 20. I hope to start the gym this week. I'm not able to eat much, so I'm always tired.

What is this only word? That's like 6+ pounds per week =p You're doing awesome! When else have you lost 25 pounds in only one month? You should be jumping for joy, you're doing great!

I am 5 weeks & I've "only" lost 26.6 lbs! I think it's great! If I lost 26 lbs next month, I'd be 2/3 of the way to my goal! I say pat yourself on the back & keep going!

Sounds like we are all doing quite well. I've been stalled at 20 lbs for 2 days (after losing 12 lbs in 2 week pre-op and 8 lbs in 2 weeks post-op) That's 20 lbs a month. But I don't think that's abnormal. I will lose a couple of more pounds when my body adjusts. I'm hoping after the initial 40 lbs or so I will be losing at a 1 to 2 lbs average a week - less loose skin if you lose it slowly.

I would say 25 lbs is phenomenal. Enjoy it while you can because the rate slows down after a couple months.

Thanks so much for that, I've been saying I've "only" lost 26lbs since surgery, which was 3 1/2 weeks ago, I am now in a stall. You have given me a light bulb moment, if I lose another 26 next month I will be SO happy and halfway to goal!, :) :)

I've 'only' lost 20 lbs in the first 4 weeks. Wait...what! I lost 20 lbs! How awesome is that!

Perspective is everything!

Each one of us will lose at a different rates for all sorts of reasons.

A loss is a loss is a loss....

I'm 3 months out and have lost 50 lbs. That's averaging about 3.85 lbs a week. But I still get frustrated with stalls at times and have to remind myself of reality. (I haven't lost a pound in 3 weeks).

BUt, if I did not lose another ounce....it's already been worth it with how I now feel!

I'm one month since I started liquid diet... I am 3 weeks and 3 days post surgery. I lost 10 pre op and then 15 more in the next week and half. Have been on a stall for 11 LONG days lol... No movement.. I even went to vegas, walked MILES everyday and ate GREAT (ie healthy and in calorie range) and came home and NADA.. That said.. 25 pounds in a month does rock.. The initial 20+ pounds is just an incredible life change for all of us and so fast that it's addictive lol.. So, I can't wait for it to go. I'll give myself 3 weeks and then get pissed.. I started with only a 35 BMI so guess I should be glad that I am in the company of weight loss of those who have much more to lose.. Interesting journey but still incredible

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
