  1. Too funny! Love your Blog, keep it up.
  2. 2 days following surgery clear liquid 2 weeks full liquid (protein shakes, cream soups, etc) 2 weeks pureed 2 weeks soft After that is open depending on what I will be able to tolerate
  3. This is the number one reason I have kept my surgery from family and friends. Other than my wife and a few close friends, no one knows. I didn't want to have to justify myself at every turn or hear constantly what they thought I would never get to do again. I'll make the necessary "I just had surgery" calls to family after my procedure and let my friends know as I see them. Some may be upset, but I can live with that. I've had enough to deal with myself over the last 6 months, I didn't want to add their drama as well. YMMV.
  4. You look great and have every reason to brag! You've lost a considerable amount of weight and look ten years younger, smile all you want! Very inspirational, thanks for sharing.
  5. Congrats! Hope your preop prep goes well and these next 3 weeks fly by.
  6. Good for you! I hope it holds up, but I was told that I would only have a 2 day liquid diet.
  7. Great idea, thanks for sharing. I'm definitely following this topic in hopes of more good ideas.
  8. Chimera gave great advice so I'll just share what I've done over the last 4 months as I too am in my preop phase. I've totally cut out bread, Pasta, rice, potatoes, coffee, sweets (candy/pastries) and all fast/fried food. Essentially I've gone high Protein, low carb and low calorie. I haven't done one second of exercise and to date I've lost 44 pounds. Good luck.
  9. Thank you all for your input. My wife and I are both having the sleeve done by Dr. Lyass through OBand and we have been trying to soak up and learn as much as we can from those who have as well. We're hoping for a September surgery date and are considering having our surgeries on the same day.
  10. Two more question if you don't mind: 1. Does Dr. Lyass use drains? If so, what was your experience like? 2. Does Dr. Lyass prescribe blood thinner injections post surgery? Thank you.
  11. I was required by my insurance to have an EDG.
  12. I have no idea what a 40 fr. bougie is, could you elaborate?
  13. I am going through O Band, so I appreciate you sharing about having access to Dr. Lyass via email.
  14. I found out that Dr. Sergey Lyass will be performing my VSG. While he is based in Southern California and I am in Southern Nevada (Las Vegas Area), he apparently travels to LV to perform surgeries twice a month. So, with that said: I would love to hear from those who have had any kind of experience, good, bad or indifferent as it relates to Dr. Lyass. Thanks in advance.
