September 7Th! Who's With Me?
I officially have a time now: Friday September 7th at 10:45 am. Let the real countdown begin! Tomorrow begins Clear liquids only. Not looking forward to it, but I know it's only one day and that one day gets me one day closer to my goal. Good luck everyone!

Funny Yet Sad :)
This is the number one reason I have kept my surgery from family and friends. Other than my wife and a few close friends, no one knows. I didn't want to have to justify myself at every turn or hear constantly what they thought I would never get to do again. I'll make the necessary "I just had surgery" calls to family after my procedure and let my friends know as I see them. Some may be upset, but I can live with that. I've had enough to deal with myself over the last 6 months, I didn't want to add their drama as well. YMMV.

I'm lucky, I will only have one day of a prep diet, two if you count the day of surgery. So, so far so good!- September 7Th! Who's With Me?
I'm right there with you, September 7th in Las Vegas, NV.- I Can't Wait To Not Have To...
As a Dad/Guy, here are a few things I can't wait to not have to do: Put off going camping, hiking, fishing, biking and other outdoor activities Not being able to ride amusement park rides with my kids - finally take my son to Magic Mountain! Having to dress 10 years older because that's what fits Worrying about weight limits for furniture and activities Make excuses for not going to the beach Having my size/weight define who I am Worry about hypertension, diabetes and heart disease as a result of my weight- 7 Months Out With Pics
You look great and have every reason to brag! You've lost a considerable amount of weight and look ten years younger, smile all you want! Very inspirational, thanks for sharing.- Any September People
My Doctor only requires one day of a prep diet, 2 if you want to count the actual day of surgery. I go in next Wednesday for my pre-op paperwork and get all of my post-op diet instructions and start the pre-op diet the following day (Thursday) with surgery that Friday. I've got so much to do, so I hope the time flies! I've never had any kind of surgery before and the only other time I have been sedated was a few weeks ago for my EGD. So I really don't know what to expect or how my body will respond.- Any September People
Congrats!- Scheduled Dates For Sept
Friday September 7th Las Vegas, NV- Any September People
I finally have a date! Friday September 7th is the first day of the rest of my life!- Men's Hair Loss
Guys, I've read several general threads as it relates to hair loss and it seems that most of the info is coming from women. So now I need some input from the guys. Here's my perspective: Hair is very short as I keep it buzzed with a #3 clipper and it's pretty thin on top. Luckily every where else is pretty good, just the top has thinned out. How has hair loss effected you, assuming you have short hair too? I've read other people say cutting it short will hide some of the loss, but I can do very little cutting. So, what say you?- The Stuff They Don't Tell You
What brand and method do you use? I searched and found several brands that are liquid or capsule. Thanks.- Goal In One Year! With Video Slide Show Of The Journey!
Very cool and inspiring, thank you for sharing.- Got My Date Today!
Congrats! Hope your preop prep goes well and these next 3 weeks fly by.- Only 3 Days Of Liquids Only Diet!
Good for you! I hope it holds up, but I was told that I would only have a 2 day liquid diet.- Isopure Popsicles...!
Great idea, thanks for sharing. I'm definitely following this topic in hopes of more good ideas.- Losing Before Surgery
Chimera gave great advice so I'll just share what I've done over the last 4 months as I too am in my preop phase. I've totally cut out bread, Pasta, rice, potatoes, coffee, sweets (candy/pastries) and all fast/fried food. Essentially I've gone high Protein, low carb and low calorie. I haven't done one second of exercise and to date I've lost 44 pounds. Good luck.- Dr. Sergey Lyass
Thank you all for your input. My wife and I are both having the sleeve done by Dr. Lyass through OBand and we have been trying to soak up and learn as much as we can from those who have as well. We're hoping for a September surgery date and are considering having our surgeries on the same day.- Dr. Sergey Lyass
Two more question if you don't mind: 1. Does Dr. Lyass use drains? If so, what was your experience like? 2. Does Dr. Lyass prescribe blood thinner injections post surgery? Thank you.- Endoscopy?
I was required by my insurance to have an EDG. - September 7Th! Who's With Me?
