I must be odd....it was the next day after surgery....and everyday since.
The first two weeks, it matched my diet....liquids. But after that it kinda followed along with my diet.
But always very regular. Guess I'm fortunate
I'm 3 weeks out....I can tell you that I was to be at the hospital for 8 am. I didn't have surgery til 5 pm. All the little worries and concerns I had on that day.....I don't even remember anymore. As you are going through the "waiting for surgery" (the worst part), know that very quickly you will probably not even remember what were major issues that day. It's difficult, I know, but it did help me. I had a friend that had been through it and gave me that advice. It worked for me!
Good luck.....and get ready for a better life. I'm down 30 lbs already.
Thanks for the info to all. I am doing really well for 2 weeks out. I have zero pain, soreness, discomfort, or nags.
I have no issue taking the PPI everyday. My indicator of success through this journey is measured by the lessening of meds I have to take. (BP and Diabetic)
I guess I'm getting a little anxious here. I'll give it a couple of months before I try without it.
ChristyAL......glad you commented. My wife and I had a very similar experience with my surgery plans. She was a bit stand off-ish about it for a while. I had to reassure her through the process the best I could. Finally, I get to my surgery date....and I could not have done it without her!!! She is my rock!!! She is also my biggest fan and is almost ready to submit for ins approval for her own surgery. (she is borderline...hope she gets it)
I hope like everything I get to be there for her and we get to get healthy together!!!
I am 2 weeks pot op and am taking my Protonix (sp) everyday. But, I have not had the first sign of gas, reflux, or heartburn. How many we're able to stop taking it after the first month? Or, am I really going to need it when I start getting into solid foods?
What's your experience...,
