Stalls:(
Most ppl go through the EXACT same thing. When I hit the famous "3 week" stall, it last for 2 weeks. It gets better! I'm down 55lbs in 3 months.....hang in there!

Alcohol
I am 3 1/2 months out.....had wine and mixed drinks from 5 weeks out. No sodas! Still can't mix a soda or drink a beer...one swig and I get that bloated full feeling. Good thing I enjoy wine.

Only 25 Lbs In 4 Weeks!
I'm 3 months out and have lost 50 lbs. That's averaging about 3.85 lbs a week. But I still get frustrated with stalls at times and have to remind myself of reality. (I haven't lost a pound in 3 weeks). BUt, if I did not lose another ounce....it's already been worth it with how I now feel!

Louisiana Sleevers?
I had mine done at Southern Surgical in Slidell on July 11. I had the same experience with them as you.....fantastic!!!! Only really had about 75-80 lbs to lose.......lost 50 in 2 1/2 months. Hadn't lost any more YET. Would do it again all over again.

Caloric Intake
Ha....we were responding at the same time. That's exactly why I ask.....do we have "different rules" now?? I mean.....I am functioning well now on 1000 calories a day....even when I run. If a "normal" person were to do that, they would be told they have to double their intake to stay healthy. Maybe I'm putting too much thought into it....

Caloric Intake
Thanks for the input.....this is a new learning curve for me. I've done so well with such fewer calories, it's hard to imagine that ultimately....eating more will help lose more. I have lost almost 50 lbs in 2 1/2 months and really only have another 25 or 30 to get where I want to be. At 1000 calories a day....I'm only really eating cause I know I need to. Very seldom do I get that hunger feeling that I used to have before surgery. I know there's no way I could double my intake..... What a blessing the sleeve has provided as a tool!!! If you would've told me 3 or 4 months ago, what my new concern no is....I would have laughed at you. I'm trying to figure out how to eat more, to be fueled enough to last with intense workouts. Sounds like I need a BMR check......that would be interesting.

Caloric Intake
I am 2 1/2 months post op and am keeping up with my intake via an app on my phone. I am around 900-1000 calories a day.....primarily Protein. I have been walking/running and am now ready to try something new. I have had the P90X program for a while (never was successful completing it before surgery). It comes with a Nutrition Guide that promotes a very similar diet to post op sleevers. However, it does specify increasing calories to be able to complete the workouts. If you use the "guidelines" they provide, I will need about 2400 calories a day. I don't see that happening!!!! I had the surgery for the restriction it provides! Have any of you guys done P90X, and did you have to increase your intake that much?? Or some other intense resistence training?? Just for kicks, how many calories are you guys consuming a day?? Thanks

I Need To Hear Sucsessful Stories....
I am 2 months out. I was up walking within an hour of being in my room after recovery room. Took pain med that night but none after. By the next morning I was walking te parking lot. Had soreness from the gas, but that was it. I did not have a drain or catheter even. I found the whole experience to be no biggie. I've had a great recovery and have never had nausea, sickness, heartburn or reflux. Down 50 lbs so far and feel like I'm 25 Again. With a few weeks I was off all meds (diabetic, BP, cholesterol). I say.....welcome to the best thing I've ever done for myself! Good luck!

When Was Your First Bm Post Op?
I must be odd....it was the next day after surgery....and everyday since. The first two weeks, it matched my diet....liquids. But after that it kinda followed along with my diet. But always very regular. Guess I'm fortunate

Omg! So Nervous
I'm 3 weeks out....I can tell you that I was to be at the hospital for 8 am. I didn't have surgery til 5 pm. All the little worries and concerns I had on that day.....I don't even remember anymore. As you are going through the "waiting for surgery" (the worst part), know that very quickly you will probably not even remember what were major issues that day. It's difficult, I know, but it did help me. I had a friend that had been through it and gave me that advice. It worked for me! Good luck.....and get ready for a better life. I'm down 30 lbs already.

Greek Yogurt Question
I would think not. There's no way for the yogurt to double its protein count by just straining some water off it. Am I wrong???

Oatmeal With A Sleeve
It's actually listed as a food on my 3 week stage from my doctor. But it does say NO GRITS.

Acid Reducer
Thanks for the info to all. I am doing really well for 2 weeks out. I have zero pain, soreness, discomfort, or nags. I have no issue taking the PPI everyday. My indicator of success through this journey is measured by the lessening of meds I have to take. (BP and Diabetic) I guess I'm getting a little anxious here. I'll give it a couple of months before I try without it.
