Recommended Posts

Just got on the scale. 215. Down fro 222 on surgery day 10/3. Waiting on a stall. Luckily, I expect it, thanks to the info I get on this board.

I was 313 morning of, 316 day I got home and 297 today. I was sleeved 10/2. I've always been a fast dropper at when starting diets and since I'm on liquids only I guess it makes sense.

I'd not worry about it, it will come off. Your body may be in shock still.

So honestly, how bad ( or not) was the surgery? Im so scared that I actually cancelled my date of 9/11. Still thinking about doing it if I can get past the fear.

I promise you I was terrified. Had a c section and my right ovary removed and tjis surgery was nothing like those. It was not nearly as invasive. I did feel terrible day one and pucked all day. I get very sick from meds. I asked to be taken off pain Med day 2. Not one single bit of pain since and no complications.... A Lil gas, 2 weeks out feeling tired but that's it. I'm on full liquids till 4 weeks: /.... I am almost able to get it all in. I have no regrets, but am ready to eat normally again. Good luck!

Wasn't bad for me. 1st day (operatiom day) sleepy, second day uncomfortable and achey tired. Third day improved, drinking 4-6 ounces no problem. Day 5 cleaned my kitchen, swept and mopped. Day 6, cleamed some more, made my bed, going to he depot later. A little tired. No pain. Everyone is different, this is my experience.

Thanks for the reply. I've had 3 c-sections and my gallbladder removed. I'm just sooooo terrified of ready many bad stories on this blog. This blog is Great, but I wish I would not have subscribed to it until after the surgery. I'm terrified of complications.

I had no pain or gas. My gall bladder surgery was much worse. I was also scared and thought of cancelling but decided it was something I had to do. I won't lie, the food part is by far the hardest on me. I'm still in only liquids and Protein shakes. So ready for something different. There are days I'm extremely weak and tired but it's part of the process.

I'm also an emotional wreck. Can't eat, tired and did I mention can't eat lol. But I remind myself in the end it will be worth it. I was sleeved 10/2 and down 18 lbs. It's amazing

I stopped going on websites before surgery for this very reason. Most people do not blog their great experiences. Just ask questions, so I totally understand where your coming from. Pray about it and you will know: )

I've had open gallbladder surgery, back surgery, 2 c-sections and foot surgery and this by far was the easiest! Surgery was on Wednesday (10/3) and I went back to work today and had absolutely no issues and didn't even tire. Just sipped my liquids all day and even went into the kitchen at lunch time and had my beef broth (or a few spoonfuls) and did feel uncomfortable at all! I know everyone is different but seeing how easy this has been for me I wouldn't think twice about recommending it to people.

I lost 10 pounds in my three day hospital stay.. Then gained a pound after a week, freaked out over it and then it took 5 days for me to continue losing weight. Down 25 pounds since September 5th, but seriously, going up a point freaked me out!

I left the first surgery 18lbs heavier than i came in. I then gained a total of 40lbs over the next 44 days due to further surgery's. But today I'm down 25 from the original weight...though my belly looks like those starving kid adds. Doc said I may lose as much as 20 lbs in the next week or two from post (I had three more surgical procedures) surgery's.

So how much have I lost LOL I find it quite confusing. I didn't even put the 40 overage in my tracker because I knew it was all IV Fluid and swelling.

HE did say that the trick to letting go of the surgery weight is to get your Water in and WALK! Moving helps a lot.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
