Ikr im like dang lol but im so happy!! Cant wait until that date! Have you heard anything yet.

Ok so now i have good news. My surgeons office got their act together and submitted my paperwork on 11/30. I called Aetna to confirm and they infact have the paperwork. The Nurse even told me that I was next in line to be reviewed. Soooooo... Fingers crossed everyone! Hopefully i will hear something by the end of the week. Honestly, if it takes another 2 weks im fine with it. I am just glad it made it to its destination.

You've made it this far, this is the nail bitting stage but Aetna is fast and efficient you should here something soon. good luck:)

Has your surgeon done a peer to peer with your insurance. I got denied with aetna at first because of weight for 2011 I had 09 2010 and 2012 but tlc surgery the place thats doing my surgery called and got me approved.

Sent pics of you? No no that wont do for the insurance they want your dr to call there medical director and advocate for you. They want to hear why u need the surgery and what will happen if u dont have it. However if u wait until 1/1/2013 the weight history will not require history for 09 it will only require u to have 2010, 11, 12 giving u 3 years!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
