One Year And 9 Months Later

Recommended Posts

Update from sleeve surgical procedure. Doing just fine, pre-op weight 300 lbs., post-op 185, sometimes it hops up to 190, but in time it usually drops down to 185. I am on the road 80 percent of the time, which makes it very difficult to adjust to my new lifestyle of eating. Considering getting a portable hot plate or an induction cooker. Places with stoves are best, then I can prepare the foodstuff. Energy has improved, don't always feel tired like I use to, have vigor and get-up-and-go on most days. In-so-far as health and wellness, blood pressure very good, diabetes exceedingly good, gout gone, elevated cholesterol, prostate trouble that's gone too, and don't have deal with the "little blue pill" any longer.

On the down side, cannot tolerate greasy food, such as fried seafood, highly seasoned stuff, Beans, and other tasty food (I am from the south). There is the social dilemma with loosing much weight so fast, family and friends differences. Foolishness on the job. But this 61 year old takes it all in stride.

We fellow sleever,s that's my chronicle. So far life is great.

Take care & be well,

Lash

Fantastic! I am scheduled for surgery on Oct 11th, just a week from this coming Thursday. I found the information in your post to be calming and it gives me assurance not to be so nervous as to whether or not this is the right decision for me.

Thanks for taking the time to share!

Ihello. It's been one year and one month today since my surgery. I am now below 200 Lbs and I believe this is my Plato as for eating I am unable to eat breads.rice Beans and drink soft drinks. Better for me. But sure miss that pastrami sandwich lol anyhow cooking is something I had to learn to do Was so used to all the fats and grease. But my two year journey was to

Prepare me before surgery. And now I am happy with the results glad to know someone else has a success story.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
