What Percentage Of Your Excess Weight Did You Lose?

Recommended Posts

Ok I found this site and I think this could be correct although there doesn't seem to be a consensus on the correct calculation. Since its from a Bariatric Center for Excellence..I am going to ASSUME this is correct!

So by this site..I have lost 51% of my excess weight..and it will just keep on rolling!

My starting weight was 234. My goal weight was 135. So I had 99 pounds of excess body weight to lose to get to my goal. I think the question is what percent of the weight you needed to lose, have you lost? I have lost 102 pounds and now weigh 133 pounds. Thats 101% of my excess body weight. I lost it ALL 100%+. It is doable. They told me the stats were about 70% but I was determined to prove I could lose ALL the weight I wanted to lose with the help of the sleeve. I love my sleeve!

PS.. I dont think it matters what percent of your total body weight is lost. Everyone wants to lose all their excess or as close to 100 percent as they can get. If you calculate your total body weight loss that way, you will never get to 100%. You cant weigh zero pounds to that is a worthless statistic. What we all really want to know is how successful have you been at losing the weight you needed to lose, (your excess body weight). So if you are 100 pounds over weight, you need to lose 100 and if you have lost 75 so far, thats 75%. etc... I think that is what we are all interested in knowing. All you do is divide your pounds lost up to know by the total pounds you wanted to lose. HTH

I lost about 70% of my excess body weight.... i am right above the statistic my surgeon gave me (he says sleevers lose about 60-65%....)

That's great! Congratulations! I'm hoping to have that kind of success when I have my sleeve done next month

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
