Is This Long Of Stall Normal?

Recommended Posts

I am just now 6 months. I have been in the 18os for over 2 months now. I have been going up and down the same 3 lbs for atleast 5-6 weeks. Has anyone stalled this long? I think that I may be at a point that my body won't let go of anymore of my weight. I'm curious to know how long you guys have stalled?

Yes this was what happened to me, I stayed at 180-185 for around 3 months. I had to fight my way out of the 180's. I am now at 175 maybe 174 today.

I am 4.5 mos out, and stalled for about a month ( at 3.5 mos out) at 172!!!!! arrgggh!!!! It just sucked and felt like I was never getting out of that number! however... I started losing FAST again and am at 157 today! :) So I guess its normal. just eat and do what you're supposed to. good luck!

I have been in the 180s since May/June, but I am progressively getting lower. I am now staying close to 181. I upped my calories for a bit and now I'm taking in less calories again and am showing a weight loss again. I hope to get into the 170s soon.

I noticed that my body has a rhythm..... I loose a significant amount of weight... stall, gain a pound or 2, then start losing again..... weird.....like it's not letting go easy... wickedness.....

So glad i read this post I have been at a stall for 3 months. I'm very frustrated and aggravated. I'm trying to add more exercise. I weigh myself everyday I'm sure that's not best thing to do. Very disappointed.

I stalled for six weeks near the beginning. I had to take measures to get it moving. I was following directions To the letter but, When I shaved off some carbs and increased my cardio, It all started going down again.

Yes, I've been in the 230's for over 2 months. Just keep swimming!

Oh yeah, but I have been shrinking though, so all is well.

You have to get your Water in too.

I'm so glad Ms. April Dawn that you were able to see 179 yesterday. :)

I saw 179.4 on my scale today! I had been in the 180s for months, and I am sure I'm not completely done with them, but I am seeing 179, and the stall is over. :)

It will happen, SmileCharmer. Keep on going.

Well, it's been about 3 weeks since I last posted this and I only stayed at 179 for a day. I'm still at 181 and I can't get the scale to budge only one pound up or down. I'm trying to realize that if this it and I can't lose anymore I should be happy although it's still very discouraging! Maybe I shouldn't have introduced carbs into my diet but I work out everyday and I find it hard to keep a balance. When I work out I'm definately hungrier and it's harder to control my apetite.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
