Getting Back On Track And Restriction

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I'm offically going on my 9th month and starting October I've lost about 100lbs. It's exciting and scary. This past month -- mostly the end of summer my eating habits havent been great. I went from not really eating at all. to now eating the wrong things. And now I'm worried about my restriction. I definitely still have some restriction but it's not as much as it used to be. and i feel i need that back. I've heard of people doing liquid diets to get their ristriction back. is this true? PLEASEEEEE HELP GUYS!. I really want to make this surgery as success and don't want to F**** it up.

I too am 9 months out and notice some habits slipping... summertime too relaxed and fun I guess!

I think the boot camp is a great idea.

I notice that by doing 3 simple things I get back on track: 1. count Protein grams and make sure you always hit your daily target 2. Count Fluid intake and 3. Monitor portion size (ie measure). I am not counting calories or carbs, but just doing Protein first and getting enough Fluid seems have helped me get on track and be less "desiring of food". I think those dang carbs just start enticing you over time....

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
