Hi November sleeves! Just wondering how those who will have surgery before thanksgiving plan on dealing with the holiday! And those after who are on a pre-op diet are going to handle it. I know we're are all different times during the month but all have to face this day dedicated to our enemy FOOD!!!!

Don't worry, you won't care. As you can see below, my sleeve date was 10/4/11 and I was 7 weeks out last Thanksgiving and I didn't miss it. We had a big Thanksgiving potluck at our church and I had about 5 things on my plate (about a quarter size serving of each thing) and ate about 6 bites. I was also over 35 lbs lost so that was a much better trade off for me. You can splurge for the day and eat whatever you want, but for once in your life, you won't want to eat much.

I cook Thanksgiving dinner every year, and this year it will be less than two months after my surgery. I'm planning on having a bit of turkey (if I can tolerate it) and mashed cauliflower instead of potatoes. I think my splurge will be a bite of pumpkin pie.

I'm four weeks out and still don't have much desire to eat. In fact, I think I've only had one craving .....and it passed quickly. I still have to remind myself to eat most of the time. Even if you do decide to eat you'll just have a few bites and you'll be done. Love my sleeve! :-)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
