My classes at Kaiser showed us a video about chair dancing. Granted, its an older video (I believe mid-80s) but probably still effective. I hope this helps.

I purchased a Spin Gym from HSN dot com and I use it to tone my upper body and it does work. You can use free weights of course or whatever you have available (bottled Water, a band etc) to do arm toning. As far as my thighs, I stand next to my chair and do leg lifts, squats and lunges.

I work at a desk too, 8 hours a day 5 days a week. I don't get a lot of exercise in my job but I work on the 4th floor so I ALWAYS take the stairs. Also, I used to wait until I had a stack of files to file away before I went to the filing cabinets. Now I take them one by one when I've finished with them. It isn't a lot but it is more than I used to do. I also have hand weights and a resistance band in my desk. I get them out when I have some down time. I'm not sure what restrictions you have with MS so I'm not sure if any of this will apply to you. It is just what I do. :)

I like to do leg lifts while seated. Stretches are easy to do as well!

This article has some good suggestions: http://www.webmd.com/fitness-exercise/features/exercise-at-your-desk

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
