Nsv On The Plane Today......

Recommended Posts

Terrible photo with the iPad but look at the seatbelt! That is the excess once I pulled it in. Presurgery I was struggling to do it up and on the border of asking for an extension belt. Today, I got to tighten it. And LOOK!

That's definitely on my list. I can't wait to fly to see how far I've come. The last time I flew was well before my surgery and I had to ask for an extender! That is an awful and embarrassing feeling. I said never again! A great victory for you!

Thank you!

I fly regularly for my work and on the small planes was at the point of asking for the extension belt. On the bigger planes I could get it done up but sometimes it was a real squeeze. I had noticed it was getting easier and easier but it was only yesterday I looked at the excess belt and it sunk in.

See I forgot to measure myself presurgery. I weighed, but never measured. I wish I had done this. There was something so unexpected about looking at the inches on that belt and realising that this is what I have lost from my girth. I am certain the guy next to me was wondering why I was trying to take a photo of my lap while giggling and twittering to myself with glee!

Love it. I also to pictures of my seat belt tail the last time I flew 4 months post op and I can't wait to take one again the next time I fly. I didn't have to ask for an extender before but the belt had to be all the way out and some planes it was a little to tight.

Congrats!!!! It's a good feeling for sure. I flew this last weekend and had the same experience. Not only did the seat belt have extra room but the tray table didn't touch my stomach... I was amazed that there was a ton of room between me and the tray table... I thought I was flying first class!!!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
