Tip On When To Weight Yourself!

Recommended Posts

Well who knew???? After 10 months of weighing myself every morning as soon as I woke up and had my coffee but after I took my pajamas off I would weigh myself thinking this was the best time of day (to get the lowest weight). Well my husband said, no, the best time is after you've exercised (even though I have 2 cups of coffee before I go out). Sure enough, the scale is 1/2 lb to 1 lb lower after I exercise! So that's my tip of the day.....I'll take it any way I can get it! (Another incentive to work out too!)

I am usually up at least 1 lb after exercise, I assume this is from the 2 bottles of Water I drink while exercising. My best time is first thing in the AM, after potty, before any fluids or foods.

That's when I weigh as well! I was told you would be at your lowest weight first thing in the morning....

My best time is first thing in the morning, after exercise, then after two hour sauna, potty, strip bare, before any fluids or foods, spit and finally clip toe nails. :P

I am another one who weight myself in the morning before any food intake. I just think that it should be consistence time, so you better see the weight difference.

I weigh every morning before any food or liquids but after a bowel movement.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
