August Sleevers..what Is The Progress

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved 8/27 & am down 100 plus a few. I have having this odd reaction to this weight loss. When I started getting close to 200, I wanted it to slow down, I got like scared but I don't consciously feel scared, I am happy, thrilled, loving life. OK, so the scale goes to 195, all is good, goes to 190, all is good, now it is falling below 190, I am at 25 lbs to goal and my head is screaming, wait, not so fast, help, I'm not ready. Ready for what? I don't know? Is anyone else experiencing any of these CRAZY FEELINGS?

Thank you, next time I have this feeling I am going to power through it. I want goal, heck, now is not the time for me to dillydally. Summer is coming, when we hit goal we are going to stay there or drop more. THAT'S IT!!!! I know Maintance is going to be the hardest part so my silly brain is like, stay away from Maintance (I guess). I am going to work on shifting this. Thanks again for your reply

Okay AUGUST Sleevers...anyone STUCK?!?!

I was sleeved 08/24/2012

SW 348

CW 263

I was stuck at 269/267/264 since 02/08/2013

Just going up and down up and down...

FINALLY I've been staying at 263...I have SOOOOO far to go to get to 150 <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

Hopefully the scale will start to move again...

On a MORE positive note...I am in a size 18 pant 14/16 top which is almost too big and I bought a dress that was an XL!!!!!!!!!

Anyone gong through this right now?!?!?

Hi Curvy Girl...I was sleeved August 17th 2012. HW 348-SW 332 - CW 247.

I have had so many stalls and I have a long way to go also, another 80lbs...but last year this time my body was in pain, my knees, and I felt miserable. Now, my knees are fine and I feel good about where I am headed...onderland!

I've been trying different things to try to get the scale moving after hearing everybody else's remedies. I can eat just about anything I want but I am keeping a journal of it in the LoseIt program and that keeps me honest with my intake. I went back to at least one Protein Drink a day, and now the nutriblast, I love it! Still have exercise challenges though. I would probably be further along but life gets in the way most days and I don't do the exercise I need to do...ugh!

This is definitely a life changing journey for a foodie like me! Thankful for this outlet with others having same challenges and experiences to share;-)

I hear you! I keep stalling...just made decision this week to stop checking the scale daily...it's hard. This is a marathon and some days I feel like the tortoise trucking along;-). Be encouraged...we are better than we were last year this time!

I was sleeved aug 27, I'm down 75 pounds. I'm thrilled with this weight loss but find myself on the slower end of the weight loss compared to others and it frustrates me. The last 2-3 weeks I haven't lost an ounce...and last night I realized I've let a few bad habits creep back in. My calorie intake is always 50-200 calories too much(my goal is supposed to be 800 until I've reached my goal). My exercise has been lacking since Easter. And I find I'm eating too many carbs. So after this realization last night it's time to quit feeling sorry for myself. Get out my pre-op/post op manual and get back to the basics. I'd love to hear updates from everyone else sleeved in August!

Hi, I was sleeved August 17th!

1. For Breakfast I'll have 1 apple with some Peanut Butter or egg and sausage. lunch is either a 3 inch subway (which I can't finish) if I am on the go or if I had time to prep meal I will have chicken or tilapia or salad. dinner is usually another type of chicken, I rarely eat red meat. I'll have Snacks like jicama, cucumbers or nut bar.

2. I just started a Fit Camp in the park and I love it. I have a lot more energy and have not experience any pain or nausea

FINALLY!!! I am FINALLY under 260 lbs 258 lbs as of today. OMG I thought I was gonna be in the 260s FOREVER!!!! I have been there since JANUARY!!! That was the longest stall/slow losing period I've had!!! I was really getting worried. I have not started working out. I started at 348 Aug 24th I'm almost 8 months out 258 today...down to a size 18 jean...XL or 14/16 top. I bought a pair of 16s for kicks and couldnt get them over my BIG BUTT!!!

If anyone says this is the easy way out they are SOOO wrong...I have to make the right decisons on the DAILY to eat the right foods. Which is a struggle but I am doing it!!! The only thing that DOES help is that if I do eat the wrong foods I can't eat much of it. bread doesn't sit well. Before bread and butter was a BIG problem.

I am almost halfway where I need to be. I PRAY I can make it...I PRAY we ALL make it!! :D

8 month update :)

Sleeved 8-17-12

SW-217

CW-153

I am down 64 of the 81lbs I needed to lose to be at normal bmi...only 17 more pounds to that goal! Although that feels slower than everyone elses losses, I have lost 80% of my excess weight in 8 months and I am ecstatic about that.

I stopped losing for about 2 months and thought I was in a stall but once I finally started tracking my food again I realized I had gotten off track and, while I wasn't being really bad, I had let the calorie and carb count creep up enough to be the cause of my stall.

I have been back on track with my Protein, Water, carbs, calories, and logging everything on MFP for about 25 days now and have lost 7 lbs in that time which I was very pleased with. I know that when you get close to goal it slows down so as long as the scale moves in the right direction im happy. I really wish I had done what I'm doing now the first 6 months instead of letting the sleeve do all the work, but better late than never right? I even started exercising 3-4 times a week FINALLY...who woulda thunk it! ;)

I eat 900 calories or less a day. Try to keep my protein around 80-100g a day and my carbs between 30-50g a day.

My primary high protein low carb staples I've been eating lately are Gortons Simply baked tilapia or salmon with a little bit of green Beans or kale. These pepper jack bacon stuffed chicken breasts called Cravers (think). One of those is pretty filling so I don't eat anything with it. Gound turkey taco meat. Spaghetti sauce with ground turkey and turkey meatballs. Eggo protein waffles. I throw a bunch of chicken breast tenderloins in the slow cooker with some green enchilada sauce and a can of the healthy request cream of chicken Soup and cook it until it falls apart and shred it. I eat that with just some cheese on it. For snack I love the Ostrim ostrich and beef sticks from GNC 14g protein 2 carbs 80 cals and tastes similar to a slim jim. Plus it actually fills me up where yogurts and stuff just leave me hungry 30 mins later. If i want something high protein but crunchy and salty the microwavable hot and spicy Pork rinds but you have to watch the sodium. If I want a little dessert I eat a weight watchers dark chocolate and raspberry ice cream bar for 80 calories.

Lisa, I'm surprised to hear you had the panni before getting to goal. I'd like to hear more about that.

Did your Dr encourage / recommend it?

Was it covered by insurance?

Do you think you'll need additional procedures (plastics) later?

Hope you heal up quickly!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
