welcome aboard

seeing that you just joined our lovely group about 12 hours ago - i'll try and give you a little info PO sleeve

there is no one set answer to how much weight you will loose in 6 days, 6 weeks or 6 months etc. We all vary with our weight loss amount, how long it takes to loose "X" amount of weight.

things are different, once people have been sleeved. some people can't eat certain things, they might have a problem digesting, while others have no problems

Most docs/NUTS (NUTS = Nutritionalist) are different - one might say you can't drink from straws ever, another might say within 3 months you can use a straw.

some might say no to coffee - others say differently

one NUT might start you on full liquids sooner than another.

One NUT might tell you that you can eat or drink..a certain food/ while another NUT might tell you can't drink or eat that.

Always listen to your particular NUT/Dr. very important

we all voice our thoughts and opinions on various things, questions asked, bottom line is always listen to your doc/NUT

Typical side effects PO are nautious, vomitting, gas - not everyone experiences these problems

some people little/no pain after surgery - others might deal with some more pain

sleevers can be back to work in 3 days feeling great, others take maybe 3 weeks, others could take as long as 3 months - or all in between

Some Sleevers have great recuperation from the second they get into their room after WLS, continued good things through recovery at home too.

select few that might have minor problems, that soon turn themselves around and are better

you'll have many more questions as time approaches WLS, and then after surgery, you will have more questions again.

expect the unexpected on this wonderful trip to Sleeveland ;)

kindof got carried away with my response to various other questions, instead of just answering your only question - oooops :(

called diarrhra of the keyboard :D

deep breathes in, then exhale too

you will enjoy your long, forever journey, to a new beging of better health, and happiness for the rest of your life -

good luck

I would imagine your loss rate would depend on how far you have to go, as well as how you stick to your diet and what exercise you do.. That said, Don't know if my situation is the norm, but I lost about 175 lbs in the first 6 months with minimal exercise, and I had about 240 to lose.

As long as you're mindful of what you're taking into your body, and focus on Protein first, you'll be shocked at how fast the weight comes off of us big guys.

hey dude

since you had a larger amount to loose its true that the weight would initially start melting off at a quicker rate

you've done so terrific - amazing work you did

it is hard to stay dilligent (msp) like you have when you have a little more weight to lose, and continue to do great

you are one of those inspirational stories that we all love to hear about :)

especially great for NEWBIES

BIG KUDOS

:) :) :) :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
