I am in my first week and finding my head hunger is way worse than my physical hunger. I just want food I can chew...my menu consists of Protein Shakes, crystal light, chicken broth and popsicles. I am looking forward to creamed/pureed Soups and I can not wait for my third week...I have been craving cheese!!!! I feel good other than my food cravings,!!! I know it is not forever I just wish it would hurry up :)

So was the surgery terrible? I'm looking for reassurance (hopefully). I'm so scared. And to top it off, a poor woman posted a horror story on my wall, so I'm even more freaked out now.

Shanbutler - I was sleeved on 8/23 too and have not lost any weight and I have been eating the exact same things. Today I got to start adding full liquids. My Tomato Soup for lunch tasted like heaven. I am hoping the Water weight from the surgery will start to go.....

I haven't really weighed myself until yesterday....I was down 5 lbs...The surgery was quick...before I knew it I was out. They had to repair a hernia they found. I don't know if that is why I was feeling horrible the first day...but I had that what did I do feeling. By the next day I was off Morphine and feeling better. By the third day I was feeling ALOT better. Today I am five days out and feel great. I've been walking and the only problem is I want real food. ;) But I count my days to the day I can have it....there is a little food remorse because I won't be able to hit the buffet like before but honestly no one should hit the buffet like I used to!!! It is definitely a life style change and I'm only one week into it!!!

Yes! I had my surgery in Puerto Vallarta and got back to Seattle yesterday. It will be a week for me and I plan on going back to work no problem. At no point for me would I say I was really ever in pain. However days 1 - 3 there is a lot of discomfort as your body rapidly adjusts. Also, I had drain tubes in until yesterday and they were really uncomfortable. The minute I got them out (which did hurt to me) I felt like a million bucks. Each day is a little better.

I went from Clear liquids to full liquids so I added creamy Soups, yogurt, Protein shakes, sugar free pudding. At two weeks I get soft foods and at 30 days full menu. I spent 15 minutes at the grocery store today studying all the different Soups.< /p>

Looking forward to following your journey since we have the same surgery dates.

I am totally with you on the head hunger! Everything looks so good. I had my surgery in Puerto Vallarta and brought a friend to help me. She would order room service and I would just about die watching her eat all this delicious resort food.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
